How would you like it if the 1v1 ladder was changed to commanders, LD & MA? Yeah right you wouldn't. So stick to your bog standard 1v1 ladder and leave the seasonal as fun. You really think by moaning and groaning you're going to make everything geared up to the elitist view of what is "strategic"?

Leave this ladder for those that aren't scared of venturing out of their shell-like world and enjoy the 1v1 which was geared to players like yourself

I commend Beren for creating a strategic commanders template. But forget commanders for a second; we've talked about them enough.

This is the elephant in the room:

14 out of the 28 seasons has been MME/ME

Why have half the maps in all the seasonal ladder been Medium Earth or Modified Medium Earth?

I would like to propose the following:

No more Medium earth or Modified Medium earth in the seasonal ladder.

We have so many dedicated map makers making great 1v1 strategic maps. We have entire clans dedicated to map making. I understand not all map makers are "strategic" template creators. Here I am offering some solutions:

- the strategic template creators, please use maps other than ME/MME to create strategic templates.
- the map makers need to "sell" their maps. Advertise them. Create games every day with them, with open seats. The map of the week helps, but FFA games are not strategic.
- Fizzer can create 4-5 more autogames with 1v1 templates with maps other than ME/MME (MME is already in multi-day auto, real-time auto, 1v1 ladder, and now seasonal ladder)

Yes, we can have a strategic commanders template. But whoever creates the next one, please, for the love of anything you find holy, make it on a map other than ME/MME? Thank you.

Did you even check settings of this seasonal? It is ME with WR!! Did you even read the posts you comment on? I mean you're putting words in so many people's mouths who in fact say the exact opposite thing.

How is it not stale if every second season has the same map and the same commander setting over and over? This makes no sense. Everyone here agrees there should be more variety yet we constantly get the same thing all the time with little variation!

There are many nice templates on uncommon settings like MA, LD, no-split. How many of them were ever on seasonal?

@Fizzer Its a cool template, any chance for it replacing the current commanders template on the real time ladder?

I second Buns' proposal since we talked about it already. That commander template is way more interesting than the one who is currently annoying a lot of players in RT Ladder... It would be awesome to replace it !

Fizzer is also 7-0 on the seasonal so far , Meaning it's in his best interest to replace the commander template with this one.

Sorry, but I did not enjoy this template.

Some may find commanders fun, but it seems like they can never be properly balanced. This template was better than some but still fell short.

@Dogberry How has it fell short for you? Its helpful to explain why.

The map is overused and not fun (note how I quickly quit the 1v1 ladder after getting ranked. I only played so I could shut up the people who claimed I didn't understand this, that, or whatever because I never played on the ladder. Now that I've played, that is one less excuse people can assign to me for my deviations of opinion. But I digress).

Additionally, commanders are very difficult to balance when they're worth the equivalent of 7 armies and you only get 1 commander and significantly lower base income. They basically provide 7 free armies (well, 6 if its a SR template due to rounding, I guess) every turn it attacks, and that is a huge income loss if, for whatever reason, you no longer can attack with the commander. This template was much closer to being balanced than some of the few others I've played on, but it was not balanced.
