Hi, all!

Seeing that don't many consider Commander games as the games they would like to play, and seeing that MDL also has problems to implement such in own group of templates, I am asking Fizzer to start ladder with Commander/LD combo as he did in Season XXV.

Also, I recommend that such ladder has at least 5 different map/templates, probably all with Commander/LD combo.

One of possible scenario should be Season XXV, but there are other similar scenarios with small maps (<150) that could be included.

Starting level should be somewhere between requirements for 1v1 ladder and Seasonal ladder.

Did you even play such games before or do you suggest that out of the blue?

Also, why would we need that?

On a similar note:

I've long wanted to know who the luckiest player on Warlight was.

As such I have a genius idea. The lotto ladder. It's just what the game needs.

Save first few games in Season XXV, when I had to find out how to get right start, I won all remaining games. Last three games I lost was due to player's delay so they ended in deadline (I didn't note when the season ends). That answers first question.

I don't say I am good in this one, just pointed that we only have one or two templates in RT ladder (which I don't play due to bad internet connection) and no 3-day ladder with similar settings.

However, I see people around that set commander games on the dashboard and wait for opponents - my conclusion is that people want such settings regardless of some loud people who want to veto that settings in MDL - I didn't join MDL, yet, due to RL problems I still have, but will do as soon as I can. Therefore, we need that, and like other ladders, people who dislike such settings can easily avoid playing that ladder.

Sorry, the 5 people that would play such a ladder don't merit the amount of time and resources needed to create such a ladder. If someone wants a Commander/LD ladder, they should learn to code, pay for a server, and make a CLOT.

It took years of begging Fizzer for the 3v3 ladder. I don't think he's going to be implementing a new 1v1 ladder any time soon and if he did its not going to be quite how you think it is.... (If I picked up on the right conversations lol)

Don't have high expectations Hasdrubal. Everyone wanted the 3v3 ladder and it took years, Commanders is controversial and members only so that would make it a members only ladder which would mean less players.

If i remember correctly the API from warlight that is used in CLOT's checks if the players who are participating in the game can all create the games by themselves meaning that every player who gets invited to those game through a CLOT have to be a member. This is the reason why MDL doesn't support commanders and bomb card as far as i'm aware.

Well, I hope he will... However, 3v3 ladder requirements look too high, and I am starting to think if I will ever join it - few people I asked for abandoned idea, and my team-mate from 2v2 ladder dropped due to single map/setting used. Even these ladder need some more maps/templates to let people joy while playing.

Sorry to hear that (for 3v3 ladder) as I usually consider team play better experience than FFA or 1v1 play. Regarding members only play, Master of the Dead tried to use commander games within his MDL by using his account to set the commander game, so people can play between themselves regardless if they are members or not - don't know if he made it.

Non-Members get Commanders on the RT Ladder, don't they? Why would such a ladder need to be exclusively for members?


While I don't agree that Commanders should be the focus of the next Ladder, I am in favor of any increases in the number and variety of ladders. More ways to compete will never be a bad thing.
