Welcome to the first ever Captain's League!!

This will be the first of a hopefully long-lasting series of battles!!
VS has been seeking to become more involved in the community, and to meet others within the WL community while playing the game we all love xD.
Which is why we have created this event, though may be similar to more common known things like clan league, manager league, promotion league, this is different in the way that the teams will be compiled of players from all clans, and there will be no money involved in picking!

The Concept:
There will be 8 "captains". These will be first come first serve, except we have set a limit of 2 per clan. Initially, captains will be joined together to discuss and decide templates. From there, we will hold a snake draft (for those that don't know snake drafts, captains will be randomly given picks 1-8, and each captain will make his selection of player to add to his team. In the second round, the captain who picked 8th, will pick first in the second round and it moves on like that. Once teams are drafted, they will work together as a team in hope of conquering their division over 1 v 1, 2 v 2, and 3 v 3 templates in RR tournaments. If they are successful in winning the division, they will advance to the championship and face the winner of the other division, in a battle to the death :) (This will be stage 2)

Teams:
8 Teams of 6 will be picked by constructed by the 8 captains, each captain will select 5 other players. So that they have a field of 5 plus themselves to compete in the games.

**Each team will come up with a teamname, can be anything, and will be referred to as the team name in any summaries or conversation about the battle!! (The teamname is more for fun than anything :P)

Divisions:
4 teams per division, will be randomly determined into what division they will play in.

The Games:
5 1 v 1 templates
2 2 v 2 templates
1 3 v 3 templates (ALL RR TOURNEYS, 4 in tournament)
Captains will work with their teams on strengths and weaknesses to determine the best lineup.. Each player must play in 2 templates! Any combination, as long as they play in 2 tournaments!
(As earlier noted, templates will be discussed by captains)
This means 6 games in stage 1, so nothing unmanageable for anyone :)

The points system:
Similar to clan league,
3 points for a 1 v 1 win
4 points for a 2 v 2 win
5 points for a 3 v 3 win

BONUSES will be given if a player or team goes undefeated in their template.
1 point 1 v 1
2 points for 2 v 2 and 3 v 3.

Replacement games:
Only implemented if player is booted before picks. boot after picks=too slow, joe :)

STAGE 2:
This will be the championship stage. The highest scoring team from division A, and the highest scoring team from division B will meet in a championship round, all other teams will be eliminated and given a high-5 for participation. We will use the same templates.
Consider it the ultimate CLASH OF THE TITANS!!

A much smaller version of this was ran in VS, with slightly different scoring, but it worked out very well, and was a lot of fun for all, which is why we are taking this to a much higher level!

I will also be writing constant updates/summaries on each division, so we can all watch how it is shaping up, and since it is all in fun, I reserve the right to poke fun at any chance I get :P

CHANGES:
A few changes have been made, decided by captains!!
First off, since we were planning to make this an exclusive clan event when we made the rule that captains couldn't pick from their own clan in first 2 rounds, that rule has been eliminated..
Captains can pick ANYONE!

Next, to speed up picking process

We've decided to pick a 40 territory map, each player will be assigned a territory, and captains will enter their orders from 1-40... the 5 spots they get will be the 5 players they draft!
Just a new little twist to speed it up and make it more interesting!

So this is basically manager league with a different team creating concept? I will participate but only as player

yeah, seems like manager league all over again. would be nice to check why manager league didn't keep going to avoid same mistake. just saying.

Yeah this is a simpler version (I think) than manager league.

BTW rocky I think the total points for winning all 1v1 games should be the same as winning all 2v2 games (and 3v3).

on Manager league the Problem was a lack of Managers. here are even more Managers or captains required so that might be a problem

we already have 4 captains, so I don't think finding 4 more will be a problem.. being a captain will be a lot less work than being a manager in manager league.. just gotta help pick templates, pick your team, and then enter a lineup. Not too difficult

@dan, as soon as we get 48 players that are decent, good or excellent on strategic templates. 8 of theses 48 players will be captains.

Is there a minimum ability for captains? If not, I am keen to be a captain. Don't worry guys, I am not as bad as my win-rate says!
