I've tried it before using buildings, gardens, walls, paths, etc. as territories. However, no matter what I did, I always ended up with a large variety in territory sizes. In the end, I deleted the SVG and the map. If you want to try it, go for it and good luck to you, but I won't blame you if you give up.

However, try defining their boarders. Also, if I were to make a list of everywhere that thinks it's independent, then this list would go on forever.

If you want to make a map of the places you've listed, then go for it, but I'm not adding them to the list.

Dito, lets keep the list to recognised countries for now, there are plenty of them without maps at the moment.

Historical states I would like maps on:

Weimar Republic

Hittite Empire

Nazi Germany in 1942

New Dynasty Egypt (1500 BC -1000 BC)

They all aren't recognised by the UN.

Who cares? Taiwan isn't recognised by the UN, do you know this? And yet here, the Cook Islands and Niue (both owned by Aoterka) are?

That's like that the wars always temporarily take away indepenence of all countries invovled. Or America isn't independent since it's currently fighting a few wars. I often see independence meant so arbitrarily, but what is politic independence, it's just very easy: you pay taxes/follow the laws of one country. If a revolution begins and you're in the zone in which the revolutionists have taken, then you're in the independent revolutionary country, and pay taxes/follow their laws.

A fun thing to do is to go to the list of countries on different Wikipedia domains for a few different countries. You will see that the number of countries varies quite a lot.

Also Sealand needs a map. (Please don't discuss its independence. It clearly is independent, just not recognized yet.)
