Single player game against myself instead of AI: 1/31/2016 19:26:12

Hello!

I wanted to recreate a game I'm playing, so I figure that I could do so by playing against an alt.
It would be great to be able to save and load though, so I was wondering if it is possible to create a single player game where you assign yourself both as player A and player B (with no AI).

Is there any way to do this or something similar?
Did anyone come up with a way to simulate a MD game you are currently playing?

Yes, as I said that's what I'm currently doing.
The point is that a single player game would give the opportunity to save, which is extremely useful.

You can, just use custom scenario and two accounts. Then save the template, and you've effectively saved the game. (I'd also recommend to make it no fog). The only thing that you cannot copy exact is card pieces, unless you both have the same amount. Also you might not have perfect intel on your opponent, so you'd need to guess certain things.

Good tip the no fog one, didn't think about that.
Saving the template will only save the initial disposition though, right?
I guess there's no better solution than this one.

Make a multi-day game with 10000000 days boot.

How does that have anything to do with saving though?

I could create a rt game without autoboot, it would be the same.

Oh, ok, I guess I didn't explain clearly what I meant.

Since I want to recreate a game that I'm currently playing with an opponent, it may turn out that my guesses about his picks and his movements were wrong. So, when I said save, i meant actually save and reload to a point in which I'm confident that I guessed right what was going on behind the fog. Of course there's no way to do this in a multiplayer game, that's why I was wondering if there was a way to play a single player one vs yourself.

Unless it's against AIs through the Single Player option, there's no way to save your progress. Your best bet would be to use an alt with no autoboot. Unfortunately this doesn't enable you to save, so you'd have to log in to both accounts and do it that way. ;)

You can do this by creating a single player game with a custom scenario. Just put in whatever territories you think your opponent has, how many troops are in each place, how many neutrals are in different spots on the map, and give however many cards you think they have to them. The make a second slot for an AI player, where you either just close the AI in in a corner of the map, or give them your setup, and play a few turns forwards from there, always deploying what you saw to the frontline, and what you didn't see elsewhere. If you want to make it more accurate, do the same thing, but make it a multiplayer game with an alt, and give one player your opponent's territories and armies, and the other your own. Then play a few turns ahead, doing the same thing you originally did with the player controlling your side, and doing what you deem likely from the opponent's side.

This does exactly what you want, and should not take you very long to create.
