I have the potential to go out with a shotgun and kill people. But I don't. On a side note, what really pisses me off is when someone goes:
"This kid played (CoD, Battlefield, Halo, any game with violence at all), so obviously they got violent tendencies from the game so lets blame the game." This relates back to your point because sooner or later someone will say: "Oh, he played (GT, Forza, NFS, take your pick of games with cars in them) and that obviously made them think they couldn't die.
STOP TREATING KIDS LIKE FUCKING IDIOTS. I am perfectly sure that that boy had no sexual desire with that girl, and that he should have been given a detention. NOT A DAMN JAIL CELL. I mean I have done far worse things to people and had far less happen (1 day suspensions).
The majority of kids are idiots, though.
Violent first person shooters trivialise death and killing into a movement of the finger, not much different from pulling the trigger (imperfectly). And yes, just because they think they can do cool tricks in these racing video games, they think the physics transfer to realife.
