Platinum, I feel the need to address you trying to bring my age as some kind of excuse to make your illogical claims. He did post porn a few months ago and was suspended for it. Recently he made that thread and was suspended for it. Now he is complaining about the rule that he broke twice (about 5 times if you consider he slammed the forums with porn). If I were Fizzer, he would be banned by now. The age requirement for this site is 13, while the age required to view pornographic content (in the United States) is 18.

- A state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.

In theory, a Democratic Republic is a good substitute for Democracy when you have a large, populous nation. But in reality, it's not a democracy because not everybody's opinion is accounted for and many peoples get marginalized and sometimes there's going to be misrepresentation (just look at the UK Elections, awful representation of the population). And just a plain Republic is not much better, considering there are ways for you to become a Senator/Representative but the people don't have to agree/like you.

A democracy is a kind of rule. A republic is a country that has this rule.

A democracy has the people make decisions directly which makes it ineffective because you must gather the opinion of the entire populace to make a decision while a democratic republic exists with government officials being elected to make decisions

How can a republic be undemocratic? I just now listed the Oxford meanings for both democracy and republic.
