Hello
I have to admit that you guys interpretations aren't more bizare than what I have read from various christian scholars. In some other threads people have argued that the bible has been disproven on countless occasions while others have argued that you can neither prove nor disprove the bible as any other religious text. I however believe that the bible makes relatively precise statements also when prophesying about the future. Sadly with most biblical prohesies bible scholars used the prophecy to date the book after the occurrence, however this is hardly possible with some of the most astonishing prophsies like especially the one found in Daniel 9.
http://www.gotquestions.org/seventy-weeks.htmlAs for the book of Revelation it fits perfectly well into the canon of the whole bible. It is well known from the Old Testament prophets that the coming of the Mesiah to erect his age of piece will be preceded by the worst time in the history of mankind.
Mabgog and Gog would be in reference to a modern or futuristic Russia. In Revelation Gog and Magog come from the four ends of the earth after the messianic age of piece.
