He was pretty successful. He did not put them in massive war, also. Britain and France declared war on Germany, and he was winning against them mostly as well. France went down quickly, Britain could have been destroyed, just if Russia was not declared war on (and Japan did not war on America, as well).
But the war, without Russia or America would be a victory, making even more land and jobs for Germanics.
An expert bomb technician only makes a mistake once.
That's basically what Hitler did.
Hitler's good achievements are virtually erased because of the horrid, evil things that he has ordered, but that doesn't mean that Germany was a good place to live 1934-1940, and depending on where you lived, 1933-1944.
