Fizzer I know people have been complaining about this since the day you integrated it. I have been playing since 2012 and believe me I did like the original games setting but the dashboard is more simplistic and easier to do thing in. The dashboard gives me the ability to do multiple thing at once and I love it. People just don't like change and that's normal but once one sees the changes for what they are like I have immediately they have no idea what they are talking about. Originally I always had to have the community put on my favorites and then had to go to my games. Now I have everything I need right in front of me and that is very appreciated. Thank you for making the dashboard and unlike what people say you do listen. I know you have to keep servers up and that must cost money and people on here are spoiled. They act like you have taken their first born child. You haven't taken anything away like so many other games and you do communicate with us and play along. Keep doing what you are doing because if people got what they wanted they wouldn't have this for long.

Just like how George Lucas doesn't make movies that are purposely bad. Sometimes we just have to accept that a creator's vision differs significantly from that of the community.

Why not mail him?

There was a 250 post argument about this....

Also the following people would disagree... https://warlight.uservoice.com/forums/77051-warlight-features/suggestions/9183662-bring-back-open-games-and-my-games

There are some features that I like really like from the dashboard. Which makes it more visually appealing.. Tbh, I prefer the dashboard in some ways.. But It is just clustered and purposely badly organised the tabs.. Why did he put it in the bottom of the page "open games"? So people can see the coin games.. Hopefully to spark some interest.. Only reason I could see out of it... There is also too much going on on the page.. As if the whole site revolves around that one page.. I don't think it works out.. I think features need to be taken out of the dashboard.. Which people have agreed on ... The feature that the people want out is "My games and open games..

I prefer the dashboard but it is just so clustered and purposely badly organised it gives the page a bitter taste..

If I can stand by one fact is that Fizzer does try to make the best change for the Warlight game and community... Which I will always respect him for no doubt.

There is a difference between George Lucas and Fizzer. The former doesn't care about the fans and just cares about the money. The latter tries to do things that would improve it for the fans and didn't want to have the website have ads but knew that money was needed to keep the game up. So what if the coin games are the first things you see. Are they holding your family hostage. Coin games are another way to make money and what's wrong with that. Is he lessening the experience.
Plus do you see ads for useless products lined up on the screen. No it is only the game.

No one has accused Fizzer of trying to purposely make things worse. I truly believe that Fizzer has the best intentions behind each update. However, good intentions doesn't always equal good results. Sometimes developers miscalculate an update and a lot of people get temporarily bummed out, it happens.

Fizzer should not be blamed for trying, as he had good intentions regardless of the result.
People in the community should not be blamed for pointing out issues that they personally see with a specific update.

There is another difference. People pay to see Star Wars, and expect to get their money's worth. Most people are not paying to play here. They get a free product and fly off the handle at Fizzer. I'm not saying they should not complain, but there are many who are pretty damn rude for contributing zero money to the site.

That's a pretty fair point. But then, what would you say regarding Warlight members who are of the same mind?

I say just be civil. voice your opinions in a constructive manner. Offer solutions rather than whine about it. clearly state why something is worse than it was. I've tried to dig into the issue myself and ask the right questions in hopes he has all the information he needs.

Nobody is saying people should not complain, just be productive about it.

How it will make him earn more money? Lol. Most people don't care about coin games because the chance of earning something is ridiculously low.

Only people that play all time and have winrate of 65%+ can earn something from coin games. But given the fact that most realize this, should they try fighting another good players for a mere chances of earning something?

I would guess the amount of people who have purchased coins is very small (there are always some who will spend). But, he will eventually get all the coins he gave out back via the rake. The question is will he get enough coins purchased to offset the development time it took to put in place. If so, he is ahead there.

He can always do promotions down the road too that encourage coin purchases. Like a 2 for 1 day or something that makes people more likely to invest that way (again he'd eventually get them bake via rake anyway). Speaking of investing, he could give a small amount of stock in Warlight for buying a coin package. He could give special investor tags to profiles based on coins purchased.

That feature creates a lot of options for him, even if the ROI is not huge right now (which I expect it is not).

The dashboard is definitely an improvement over what was here before. What are the complaints? That you get to see everything at a glance?

Not entirely, you have to press "show more games" (or whatever) to see all the open games. That's one click to see all the open games. The "open games" tab also took one click to see all the open games.

No developer has ever intentionally made bad changes. While changes might be more in the best interests of the developer rather than the interests of the user, they are always in an attempt to improve things overall, sometimes over the long term instead of the short term.

As for the dashboard, I don't have any problems with it. I like having a few forum topics, my active games and other open games in one place. However it's a bit irritating having to scroll down past the coin games before seeing open games. I don't play coin games and it's an obvious attempt by Fizzer to snatch some more cash.

Eklipse {TJC} : Actually, and unfortunately, many people have accused Fizzer of making things purposely bad / worse.

Platinum did earlier in this very thread.

Platinum:
Perhaps you meant to tone it down by saying that it "looks" or "appears to have been"
"made purposely bad" but you didn't, and it wouldn't have helped much at all.

To be perfectly honest, I think everyone cares about their creations.

Unfortunately, sometimes everyone gets jaded, cynical, bored, tired, etc.

However, I think that Mr. Fizzer is far from jaded.
Updates to the game are released quite often... and I've been in popular games where the community was largely on it's own for many months at a time.

I think it's part of our role as community members to see other people and treat other people as people even though we can't see their faces,
and to do our best to give others the benefit of the doubt.

I am grateful to Mr. Fizzer for creating this game, and to the game's volunteers for helping Mr. Fizzer to update and maintain this nice game.

I'm also grateful to all the people who are doing their level best to make suggestions in a positive manner so that the suggestions have the best chance of success.

Further, I'd like to suggest that when people are making suggestions, that they consider taking the time to take some screenshots, and creating a visual explanation, even if only in Microsoft Paint,
even if only drawing some arrows, to explain a few things, not only for the benefit of Mr. Fizzer, the volunteer staff, and us the players, but for the sake of the suggestion at hand and the relevant discussion.

I don't play this game on my phone, because it's not a smartphone, but at least on a PC, the dashboard, save for a slight overlap between the frames for the Forum Posts and the Games, is quite nice, and unencumbered by advertisements the way that Facebook, or most news sites would be. While it can be improved, and perhaps it used to be better, it wasn't perfectly user-friendly two months ago either.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Dublin Warrior

P.S. TL:DR ? Then you're in the wrong thread. :)
