@knyte Actually Cheating in Coin games is by far the most serious as you cheated. I would not be surprised to see Arlecchino kicked out of |GG|. As for RA, he can take down the map (I think) and apologize to Fridge, problem solved.

@linberson: Ah. My bad if I came across as accusatory, then. I hadn't looked much into the Arclecchino alt issue after the suspension from WL as a whole. I was just surprised to see RA pop up on here still in XS, another clan that I've mentally categorized as "having its shit together."

@Ben: Yeah, creators can delete maps (or replace them). RA doesn't seem to be heading in that direction based on his behavior in this thread, though.

The weird thing about all this recent drama is that it's been happening to players of actually good clans.

Where do you think drama happened before multiple troll clans existed? Good clans are also better at not letting drama slide onto the forums. For example, WM disbanded without a single thread despite it being quite dramatic to see a top clan pretty much vanish and be gobbled up by WG and GG. Also, the bigger a clan gets the more susceptible it is to things like what happened to GG and Arlecchino.

Also RA is the founder of XS last I checked. Doubtful he'd be kicked out. Also, while I side with Fridge, I don't think it's as big an issue as someone joining coin games with multiple accounts.

^ I haven't been active long enough, and have never really been part of the same communication network/sphere of knowledge as clans like yours. CORP doesn't really bump into y'all that much, and it probably won't until we get significantly better.

It's definitely not as big of an issue but it's still essentially stealing someone else's intellectual property without permission. Not sure how Warlight treats maps but Fizzer's stance seems to be that mapmakers own the maps they create. I haven't read the TOS, but RA might also be in the wrong here from a legal standpoint (not that I think something as small as this is worth suing for).

In any case, I only commented that because I figured the elite clans were miles ahead of the rest of us when it comes to taking a stand against players doing unethical/stupid things, which does seem to be the case at least for GG.

WG has no drama really. We stay smaller like apex and are a tight knit group.

RA and I are the co-leaders of XS, but I'm not about to kick out the person who paid for the clan...

I wonder how many of the maps submitted to warlight had their submitting author ask the reference map creator for permission to redraw it into a warlight map before uploading. 1%?

Now it's drama because RA did it to another warlight player? He clearly just got tired of waiting and thought fridge was retired and never going to finish it, he wanted to play that map, he redrew it and submitted it. It even looks like a quick redraw.

I consider fridge my friend, i chatted with him way more then i ever talked with RA. And i agree it was a shitty thing to do from RA, that RA should at the very least have mailed him about it. His attitude towards being caught is also pretty immature. But claiming this to be wrong _on grounds of intellectual property theft_ is quite hypocritical of the warlight community.

Well, as I said, I am not sure it is against any rule. ps is correct, most map makers have not gotten any permissions I am sure for the stuff they do (from 3rd parties). But stealing from another player is new territory. That is the slap in the face here.

And the biggest thing is the reaction by RA IMO. If he had said my bad, didn't know you were coming back...that would be one thing. Or if he mailed him and got no response. But he did neither of those. So while I doubt he's going to be suspended or something, we can all shun his map and deal with the slap in the face with one of our own.

I had a map of mine badly copied once and i reported it to fizzer and it resulted in the map being taken down.However this is trickier considering fridges hasn't been submitted yet.However i side with fridge on this.

RA has been given "Trophy: Create a beautiful map". I propose to take it back from him as a punishment for thivery and absolute lack of any remorses.

^ To be fair, RA did create Ursa:Luna and I believe a few other widely-used maps.

It does mean he should not lose a trophy. He did in fact make a nice map (more than one) and that is not changed by being a hack on another map.

^ You have to play a game on the map, and when it's finished the "Rate this Map" option pops up in the left vertical bar (right where you normally have "Deploy-Attack-Confirm"/"Modify Orders"/"Next Game"/etc. and then also have "Share on Facebook" once the game is over). Just go to any finished game in your history and check.

Just make a singleplayer game with custom on that map, encircle the AI with 10000 stacks and he has 0, reduce base income to 0 and win. Then give the map a shitty review.
