This has crossed into bad story telling, if you need torture gore to tell it.

This is the original survivalist game. You do what you need to. There is no set theme. Not to mention most finger injuries are severely minor and are only as painful as how unskilled you are at using the scalpel.

We don't want too much realism in stories - we can forgo the gore for a more pleasant story. I was hoping that this story would not go that way.

Its not ment to be a last resort. Logically ask yourself what this mystery cylinder is doing in your hand. Why are you in this room? What does the Crimson Rose mean? There is clearly a plot being developed here.

You grasp the blade firmly in your right hand. You decide to cut with the grain of your skin to reduce as much damage as possible. Upon the penetration you can feel the cylinder within your hand. Lucky you saved some of the water so you're able to wash and clean your wound as you progress. After some moments of pain you retrieve the cylinder from within your flesh. Opening the cylinder reveals another paper with the number four written on it.

Turning your attention to the corner, you're able to slowly chisel the floor around the hole away. After some time and deliberation you're able to retrieve that paper. Unrolling the paper reveals two separate pieces. On one paper, the number two. On the other, a message, "C.C. is most noted for his big yet unexpected discovery." You assume the message to be a clue to solving the combination to the safe.

Digits available; 1,9,4,2,

At this point of the game, you guys should all converse with one another to figure out the combination. A vote will decide this course of action as the wrong combination will permanently lock the safe and end the game.

I believe there are 24 possible combinations.
To list them;

1249
1294
1429
1492
1924
1942

2149
2194
2419
2491
2914
2941

4129
4192
4219
4291
4912
4921

9124
9142
9214
9241
9412
9421

It doesn't take a genius to figure out C.C. is likely " Christopher Columbus ". Conveniently, we have the numbers "1492" at our disposal, so that is a definite strong candidate already.

You study the note. You believe C.C. to be the initials of Christopher Columbus. Working out the possible combinations of 1,9,4,2 you decide 1,4,9,2 would make the most sense. You position yourself in front of the safe, taking a deep breath before inputing the digits. 1...4...9...2...*dunk*. The safe has opened revealing yet another piece of paper. At this point you expected another note. You desperately desire this whole ordeal to be over. The note reads, "Your isolation comes to an end. One of the walls is hallow. Finding which will reveal a passage out of the room and release you from this room". After a few moments of knocking on the walls, you find the hallow wall and are able to punch throught the plaster. A a dark tunnel is before you, its a tight fit. The walls and arched ceiling are made of brick or stone. Telling which is difficult. You enter the passage but are soon overwhelmed by an ungodly smell. As you reach the end you find your passage comes to a 'T'. To your left, an intensity of the horrid smell. To your right, a blackened stream flowing. A lit torch divids the paths. You grab the torch before continuing.

A.) Go left.
B.) Go right.

You turn left. Deciding the worsen smell is far better than the stream to the right. You trek onward. Finally, after what felt like hours you come out of the tunnel. You're greeted by trees, grass, and wild flowers. To your left and right, cliffs reaching high. The day feels hot, but thankfully the shade from the trees cool you. You've escaped the mysterious room. The whole experience has been troubling. Perhaps you'll never know who or why but you can say for sure that you're well and free. Something catches your eye. You turn your attention to a sigh nailed to a tree. "We'll be watching"

The end

To be continued?

5/10 not as da Vinci code or the human crew of a sci-fi vessel getting ambushed by jungle aliens.
