I am SOOOO friggen tired of first move BS. In this game, my opponent has just gotten 5 first moves in a row (we both played OP the same turn, so that is not a factor):

If I had gotten first move even once out of 5, I'd have another secure bonus and I would be ahead. Now I will probably lose. Seriously, why are we letting LADDER matches be decided by luck like this.

At the very least, it should be a weighted random move order (I have a user voice for that).

Game is ongoing. But I have had this happen on ladder before (I think I had 6 straight turns of 2nd move)

Maybe you should have anticipated that they would use the OP (I'm assuming you both used it as soon as possible), and saved yours for the next turn? Not sure what the situation is as it's ongoing, but I assume you were trying to catch a stack running through a bonus.

situation is he has 1 spot in an isolated bonus. I have double the armies in my stack in same bonus. we also border somewhere else vital. So we both pile vital spot for 5 turns and he runs those 5 turns where my stack could eliminate him each turn if I did not have 2nd move. Neither of us can afford to deploy in isolate bonus because our vital border gets broken.

Sure, I could have saved the card 1 turn and for sure caught him next turn, but wouldn't you use the OP right away (the OP card came 3rd turn into this)? You wouldn't assume on the 3rd turn in a row you'd still have 2nd order, right?

Past performance doesn't govern future results... each turn has the same 50/50 odds even if they got 1st move 99 times in a row beforehand.

I'm voting on your weighted random uservoice, that is a killer idea.

Agree, as long as it is not the hideous no-luck cycle mode. Picking fast has never been my thing :|

The old cyclic move order would be nice.

That uservoice is a brilliant idea to avoid outlier situations.

Thank you. I don't mind 2 or 3 times missing first move. Statistically each time it is 50/50 shot, but the odds of 5 in a row the same are only %3. That is on the order of some of the obscure attacks that we got rid of switching to %0 WR on the ladder. So why are we allowing this obscurity to occur at all (giving you a 50/50 shot every time)? If you did a weighted random (where the odds changed %10 each time), instead of the probability being:

.5 x .5 x .5 x .5 x .5 = .03125 (~%3 chance)

It would become:

.5 x .4 x .3 x .2 x .1 = .0012 (~%0.1 chance)

You'd basically never see 5 first moves in a row. If you break it down to turn by turn, if a person gets two in a row, they are %50 less likely to get that 3rd first move.

In my experience more games are decided by single first orders on crucial turns rather than consecutive first orders where someone is running away from a stack.

With the weighted random suggestion it looks like one person will always be at a disadvantage in these situations. I could get two consecutive first orders on turns where it doesn't give me any advantage and then when I really need that first order I only have a 30% chance?
