Hi everyone. After I read https://www.warlight.net/Forum/87649-mystery-waste-time << that riddle-thread, i remembered a similar story i heared and solved a few years ago. I don't know if anyone here knows it already or if it is even on the internet, so if you know the solution, please don't spoil.

Rules are easy: I tell you a story, and you have to ask me yes/no-questions which i will answer then. Whoever solves the whole story, wins.

So here's the story:

There's a restaurant, in front of which is a board which says "today's menu: Albatros". A man goes in, and orders the Albatros-Menu. He takes a bite from the albatros, and then commits suicide.

For those who do not know, albatros is a sea-bird, similar to a seagull.

So the question is: why does he commit suicide?

Alba means Scotland in Scottish.

Tros means cable in Danish.

He hates the Scottish skylift system.

are his eyes Brown?

whose eyes, the eyes of the man? that's not relevant.

Does he commit suicide on purpose?

Is the restaurant near the ocean shore?

Is there any food risk when eating albatros? Like eating puffer fish runs the risk of poison?

Is the albatross tainted?

Does he commit suicide on purpose? yes. it doesn't matter how he does it, let's just say he runs out on the street and throws himself in front of a huge SUV or something.

Is the restaurant near the ocean shore? probably yes, since they serve albatros. doesn't matter though.

Is there any food risk when eating albatros? Like eating puffer fish runs the risk of poison? doesn't matter for the story.

Is the albatross tainted? no.

PS: This riddle may take a little longer to solve. just as a hint, this is a longer story. don't focus on the albatros too much.

I've already solved it, but let me reitierate.

Alba=Scotland in Scottish

T=Short for The

Ross=Name

He hates Scottish patriots named Ross, and Albatross epitomises it.

Did anything tragic happen to this man in the past?

To get this riddle going :

Does the flavor of the food hold major context with a past experience?

Oh, God! I need to retract my participation in this, I know this one! OH GOD!!!

this riddle reminds me of another one i've heard a long time ago, but instead of an albatros it was an oister i think. I don't remember the answer tho, the only thing i think i remember from that old riddle is that the taste of what he ate made him remember something in his past that lead him to commit suicide. Is this a good lead?

obviously, some of you have heared of this riddle in some kind of different form.

But now to answer the questions:

-yes, something tragic happened to this man in the past
-yes, the flavour of the food hold major context with a past experience
-no, not everybody died in the end. the waiter survived.
-It was a Hummer H3. Altough this was not yes/no-question and it is not relevant for the story at all.

the lead is a good one, although I may say here that this was the first time he ate albatros in his entire life.
