I know that with Inkscape to put text on maps I have to turn the text into a path, and have managed to do that. However I cannot figure out how to have text that is not parallel to the map. How do I have letters that are at an angle??

I have tried turning letters into a path after reorienting them, reorienting them first and turning them into a path, turning them into a path then individually moving and reorienting each letter individually, but usually that just throws the text or the letters to wild spots on the map once I upload the SVG file to Warzone. Is there something I am missing?

Sounds like you have already done a fair bit of trouble shooting.
I suspect that might be a bug in Warzone itself with the recently added a system that tries to remove nodes from maps to reduce their size.

Things to double check before making a bug report:

1. Each shape of your text is a path (not an stroke, rectangle, etc): Menu > Path > Object To Path

2. Your transformations should be applied on a pixel level (each node should have its x/y position on its final location, WZ tends to ignore any transforms added to full shapes)

3. Your units are in pixels, of both the nodes on the map and the document properties itself

If there are any issues with paths appearing weirdly on WZ, its usually one of the things above.

Having a encountered this issue before, I’ll add that it’s likely point number 2.

It can easily be triggered on paths if you’ve got them in groups and then perform a rotation.

You can find them by searching up the transform in your raw svg file
