Today we have something special, for the past 2 days 17 competitors have battled it out through 2 double elimination tournaments. Only 2 competitors made it through the tournaments as winners. Octane and adrenaline.

Octane won his first tournament in a dominating fashion through the winner's bracket, defeating adrenaline twice, once from the winner's bracket, and a second time when adrenaline came back from the loser's bracket.

adrenaline didn't falter though. Despite these losses he came back in the 2nd tournament and dominated. Notching wins all through the winner's bracket and ultimately defeating Rufus in the finals. Now these 2 competitors face off in a Grand Final.

The rules are simple, it's a best of 7 across 7 different diverse templates. Will it be Octane who has already shown he is capable of beating adrenaline multiple times?

Will it be adrenaline, looking to get his revenge on Octane and prove that the 2 losses were a fluke, that he is capable of far much more?

You got unlucky, too, Garbage. Don't feel too bad! Missed an important first pick twice, which turned out to be pretty crucial in both games. You still went 10-2 in the Candidates tournaments. Only lost to Octane and beat loads of other great players.
You can be very proud of that performance.

The number of runner-up finishes is counted behind the slash. For the ranking, generally, the number of wins will be considered; only the ranking of players without any wins or an equal number of wins will be based on the number of runner-up finishes.

For example: A player with 6 runner-up finishes will be ranked ahead of a player with 5 runner-up finishes, but behind a player with 1 win.

This statistic is intended to be updated after every tournament in a new post. Inform me about any errors or lacking data. This ranking will be used to determine who qualifies for the yearly final tournament.

In case of a tie, the most recent winner will be preferred. There will never be two players with the same rank. For players without any win, the recency of the last runner-up finish decides.

I am looking for feedback on the Finals and what to change for next year! What worked well, what needs improvement?

Everyone must be understanding this, but for the sake of having mentioned it: Tournaments labelled "Titled Thursday" are not affiliated with the Titled Tuesday event or with me in any way. I do not know the player creating them, but of course they free to label their tournaments whatever they like.

To give a personal anecdote, I remember Rufus saying he couldn't keep his eyes open or blink after losing the final vs Adrenaline. He played 7 games in 3.5 hours. So it's understandable. I think it's probably too much especially if you have the risk of playing 7 long 20 + turn games, it's somewhat tough for the finalist waiting as well.

The easiest fix is simply to make it top 8. I personally like the idea of double elimination to try and give everyone a good chance of winning.

Alternatively, if you wanted to keep it 16 - I would say it's best to make am initial group phase of 4 groups x 4 players. Use the standings as seedings. (So Rufus would 1 seed, and myself would be 4 seed - Ideally each group has a 1 seed, 2 seed and so on). Put the winners of each group into a double elimination 4 player and this should radically reduce the total time. Tiebreakers can be a 1 minute boot timer on chosen template.

I dislike the final being done in 20 minutes, I feel it would've been much better if they played one game at a time. I can't imagine the quality being as good if you're playing 4 games at a time. I would enforce 1 game at a time to finalists or max 2 games. (I stand correct, it started earlier - forget this point)
