Game Settings Controversy: 2/25/2015 16:55:04

So i know we get a lot of flak on here because of our preference for fast games (10-12 hour boots). So we are trying to appease the masses by compromising and tinkering with our offical game settings. We would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=8123870

We now use 16 hour auto with 8 hours initial banked time. We also have added a 10% bank time rate. We figure people can save up banked time for the weekends.

We hope this is a good compromise to keep the games going without people getting booted.

Also, cant help a shameless plug, If your boot percentage is lower than 15% then check out our clan page and shoot me a message if your interested in joining our clan.

Have a great day and Poon On,
Pooncrew

At least you have adjusted it a bit. Thanks for that. Not that I'm really playing your games.

10-12 hour boots is a bit tight (you figure you might have 8-9 hours of sleep in there). 16 is much better I think for a fast game. I would just make sure you have all boots the same (don't let people manual boot earlier than auto). Then you can't get complaints. And post boot time in the game title to be safe. If you do those, there should be no complaints. You don't like the settings...don't join.

Thats usually our motto, but people still complain. Direct and Auto are the same, we arent going to put the boot times in the title because we like to make funny names, but we do put a disclaimer in the message.
Thanks, for the input chris

Well, the time should be highlighted as well. But it is still nice to have the boot in the title because it is obvious on your game list. It is less of a problem now though with the dashboard. Perhaps those people are still using the my games link rather than the dashboard?

On the app it isn't as obvious as the dashboard, but the app still lists all boot times underneath the game name.

Sleep 8-9 Hours
School (In America) 7-8 Hours
17-19 Hours > 16 Hours

20 - 24 Hour would do best

I get that benjamin, but as ive stated before if a person cant handle the commitment of a faster game they shouldn't join

Benjamin, waking up 5 minutes earlier before school is that hard..?

-sleep 8-9 hours
-take turn
-school 7-8 hours
-take turn

problem?

and don't think I am defending them... I am the kind to wait 3-5X the boot time for the first time or two they pass it, since a win by boot isn't much better than a loss.
honestly.. I personally can't understand the mindset that thinks that *my schedule allows me to login more* for a victory, over *I'm better than you/played better than you, so I won*

Some of us aren't morning people AT ALL. I was constantly late to school when I was in High School

Yes, school is for learning valuable pieces of information.

A day or 36 hours would be better (timing is then less tight).

The problem, Dan, is that if you make the turns 36 hours, the games tend to take like a month to finish. We prefer a fast pace of play but understand not everyone can do that, which is why we've gone from 8-10 hour turns to 16 hour turns with banking.

As always, it's just a matter of each player knowing what he or she can commit to when joining a game.

We changed our templates to compromise with people who aren't used to our speed, but anything beyond what we have now and the games move too slowly for our tastes.

This isn't a knock on slow boot times or anything, just an explanation of what we prefer for pace of play.
