i've NEVER heard any of my adult friends, co-workers, family members, or random people on the street complain about anyone's maturity level. i have heard thousands upon millions of teenagers complain about it though.

I can't count the vast number of times I've heard teachers go on a rant about students being immature. I also have a few family members that are big on maturity too (One aunt of mine gets mad if someone even comments about a fart in the room).

I'm sure there's a lot of other situations too. Saying that most adults don't expect some level of maturity in average situations is a huge leap.

Immaturity only thrives in immature situations/places.

Ex.
Somebody Farts = You can laugh, it's only natural. Everybody does, and it's healthy to laugh anyway.
Workplace = You could get fired for laughing depending on job.
Primary School = Let's face it; Primary School is already a joke. Might as well enjoy your childhood.
Secondary School = Limit laughs, depending on if you want a Doctoral Degree from Oxford or if you want to be an electrician.
College = Want a career or a job?
Somebody Sets Up A Yo Momma, That's What She Said, 'Bout A Week Ago, etc. = Do it. If enough people laugh, you're bound to get 30 cents.

As an anti-heterophobe myself, I've no problem with people discriminating against people who do not conform to my birth-right to have sex with a person of the opposite gender.
Racist remarks are utterly despicable if truly meant. I have no problem if in teasing or taunting without intent a racial slur is used.
