Are mortars the worst thing to happen to Idle by a little bit or a lot?

there are very few mortars and limited to fire so it won't destroy the whole level. so I would also say auto-upgrade mines is worse

Auto mines is terrible for sure but at least can be fixed via reset AP or SA. Imagine though if you unwittingly upgrade a Fog Buster artifact to insane…

Just don't use mortars and upgrade mines. You can turn off the auto function if you spend AP on them.

If you upgrade a fog buster to insane you got yourself in the right position to help Otto with defogging all the maps. You can’t turn off the auto ability in battles though.

Looking at the ladder rewards if you have a very high ladder ranking mortars could be quite reliable. I would say auto upgrade mines is the worst upgrade.

Auto-mines is literally hurting you in battles in challenges. How many other advancements do that?

I'm blissfully unaware of any of these upgrades, because I often hibernate between Idle levels, but most of those do sound stoopid.

I don't have a ton of coin, and I don't spend it, but resetting AP on that auto-mine **** sounds like a sound investment in more tears now, less tears later. lol

Just out of curiosity, why would Insane Fog Buster be bad?
Oh, is that because insane cannot be upgraded, and you cannot take it with you on ascending or super ascending?
Yes, I can see where that would be bad, but for most artifacts?

No, Fog Buster is just the generally agreed upon worst artifact in the game, for multiple reasons:

- Even at Insane (64), it's substantially weaker than a single FB power (150)
- Unfogging territories is virtually useless by the time you can make an Insane, you already know where everything is
- Unfogging territories is only vaguely useful in general, and that's only if you ignore the super-fogbusted maps that are available now
- The upgrades for it are super lame (most artifacts double at each higher rarity step, FB does not)

You can take artifacts with you during SA, but only a limited number (starting at 2).
