Why would you change the name just because of that... If you have a name for such a long time then you should keep it. Why not a contest for the name as well?
I think just a logo change would be better than a name change. That said, 'tis your game, so you can make your own decisions. We're all here to express our Freedom to Critique.
I personally think a name change is a bad idea, unless there are done other underlying reasons that you didn't go into in the blog post. You've already gotten exposure with this name, and I think rebranding would set you back.
A logo change is something I can get behind though.
i like the idea of a logo, but the name change might not be such a good idea, i think. On the plus side, I might be able to trick people into playing here again if they think warlight is a different game... lol
Red white and blue are popular colors because they psychologically affect people in a positive way for businesses. Those are the 3 colors that should be used, and you'll notice almost every company logo typically has one if not all 3 of these colors.
Personally I'll take a crack at designing a red and white logo.
Well as everyone is saying. The name change would seem too be a bad idea. I personally find the name "Warzone" off putting and too much like other games out there.
"Warlight" is nice, unique.
Also, look at google results. "Warzone" gives many different titles and sites where as "Warlight" gives us... Warlight.
Wife has a suggestion for a name. Stratagem. It'd be a far better choice if you really HAD too name change ;)!
warzone sounds like an fps or tanks game, can't say i like the name change announcement. but well, it's your game, call it xptz48 for all i care, as long as i can still play it the same way as before.
was about to comment on the blog post but the captcha image doesnt show up on my browser (mac, chrome), i was assuming it got eaten by an adblocker but i don't have any extensions installed at all, you might want to look into that.
