Hello!

Every week we vote on 5 maps, and the map with the most votes becomes the map of the week for the following week.

Go here to vote: https://www.WarLight.net/MapOfTheWeek/View?Week=3

You can use this thread to discuss the current vote. Tell us why you voted the way you did!

Now there's five, it didn't have Hurey's castle. Typically I would have voted for Hurey's castle.

I think they are equally as good as each other, which is nice sinc it will be exciting who wins. I voted on the underdog, Bering sea, which is a really nice map for a first map.

I am starting to worry about this system once again. I'm faced with several maps which I have never played, and will certainly not play before voting for once of these. My opinion, and almost everyone who is voting's opinion is biased by our exposure to these maps, and I doubt that many people will play every one before reaching a decision.

Apollo, I would be very happy if you were to continue with your previous map of the week system if you don't mind the work. I know truth by authority carries its own flaws, but I believe in this case it is better than general consensus.

Isn't the main point to come across good map you have never played before?
(The NewYork one is for instance a really well hidden gem for strategic play)

The essence of it is having a sort of featured map which changes over time. You can't keep using the best ones as this would mean the 'map of the week's gradually get worse over time, seeing as you can't choose a map that has already been chosen. I would reccomend maybe having map of the month, as it takes really quite long for a good quality map to be produced. Its a shame warlight doesnt have a sustainability team XD

Absolutely - however there will be very few people who have played, or will play all of the maps up for vote before voting, which will actually incur the opposite effect, with more obscure maps struggling to attain the votes necessary to garner the attention they deserve.

Other than being voted Map of the Week, is there anything else done with this map?
Like autogames based on this map?
Tournament based on this map?

As far as I can tell, it just gets some advertisement on the multi-player dashboard.

I make every week a game on the winning map with mostly random settings.
Week 2 is still open to join.
That is my way to make the winning map special :)

Voted Battle of Dresden

It's perhaps one of the most, if not THE most, strategic map in WarLight.
It's intense strategy is comparable to the glory that is Medium Earth, and Grundie's Europe ( and also maybe Turkey ).
