Ya know, I'm not embarrassed to admit I need help too. Please view my games. I'll accept your judgment.

Cosine, being inefficient is not fun, and losing is not fun, you asked for help but say you aren't trying when people criticize you...

Like the animal?

My suggestions for larger maps are to watch good players games, see what there picks are, see how they expand and attack.

Yeah I'd usually learn just by watching better players play. for instance on the ladders, just watch the top performers's most recent games, and try to understand why they do what they do.

SE is mostly tactics (logic, concrete calculations) with a heavy dose of reading your opponent. There’s almost no strategy.

Larger maps have a fair amount of strategy (map control, speculative long term thinking) in addition to the same tactics and opponent reads.

I would guess you suck at strategy. I do too :(

So happy Middle Earth is catching on; MEAD is far more balanced than SEAD.

Smaller maps are easier to play: it is possible to decide the best picks, and it is easy to know where exactly your opponent is and how much income he has. On strat 1v1 all these things are non-trivial. Also, CW has weaker opponents on SE than on Strat 1v1, so there may be a bias because of that. If you want to become better, join Multi-Template ladder and pick a template on a bigger map you are good at. Then train on that specific template. That should make you understand why you are good on that template and how to apply that to other templates.
