I miss battels way to often. Just give me a pop-up when it's XX:00 or XX:30. You could turn it off like all other notifs if you don't want it.
Edit: Maybe even have it turned off by default since not a lot of people play battles.

This is an even better idea! All notifications should be off by default....

If you miss the icon in the upper right, how exactly will a notification be any different? Especially because each time you come back from idling, you have to close several popups already. At least as long as we speak of playing WZI.
In the case that you are currently playing WZC, such popups might help, but then again, I guess most players would rather not be interrupted when they play levels where they can be booted.
But honestly, as long as the notification is turned off by default, I don't really mind if such a feature got implemented. Except for the time that could have been invested in other (from my point of view) more useful features.

Often I miss it when i'm just chatting in GC or queing for lotto qm. There are plenty other scenarios aswell. So I would definetly need this.

The icon only shows up when the game syncs, which is every ten minutes. But a battle can only be joined during a five minute period. So there's approximately a 50% chance that you never see the icon in time, even if you are paying attention to the game. So there is merit in a popup alert; it could be entirely client-side, although people would have to know how to get to the battle without the icon.

As long as it's "opt into", go for it. No one who does want it will be inconvenienced by it.

I agree, when I was playing WZIBs, it was easy to miss that b/c of the sync timing. Sometimes it'd be up even when it was too late, and missed it.
