I have read in forum that cache sizes are related to army camp production.
Could you please clarify this?

This only applies to cache powers or daily log in rewards or cache artifacts. All caches that you find on the map are predefined. Therefore, caches on the map are only affected by any cache boosts (artifacts or advancements).

I don't know the exact numbers, but IF you activate a free cache power for example (or any not-predefined cache), the base cache size will be determined by how much money, armies, and ores/alloys you could generate in some amount of time. This base cache size is then - like with the predefined caches - boosted by any cache boosting effects you have. And you will always only get one ore/alloy, but I don't know how the game determines which you get.

To add to that, since its based on your current income, it means that with a supercharge army camp and supercharge mine you can increase how much you get from the cache.
