Going on day 4 or 5-ish of finally taking KG's advice ... QI

Actually feels pretty good. No more urgency to check my phone if some cooldown has finished or artifact has finished upgrading.

Even uninstalled the Idle app from my phone. I actually feel lighter & more sprightly ... must be the reduced weight of the shackles I was bearing.

Not suggesting anyone else quits, just reporting that I did.

Can someone explain to me the point of this leaderboard? To me, all it says is: "These are the people who started playing almost immediately after Idle started, and have been playing Idle very frequently since then."

The point of this leaderboard is to make me famous. This will be one of the most frequently updated post so this post will always be near the top. And then whenever people look at the leaderboard they will see my name because I was the one who made the leaderboard.

I think it’s helpful to have a “late-game” thread since some of the discussion in this thread is not broadly applicable.

Xeno’s route on Hex Earth, for example, is contingent on an Insane Alloy Values AND an Insane Army Cache Boost. This is not a useful post for 99% of players but is invaluable to the 1%ers.

If you've never thought "I wonder how many SAsc's other players have done?" then this thread won't sense to you. But you should be wondering. And this also groups the folks together who are actually doing SAsc's so they can chat strats among each other specific to SAsc'ing.

This is not in fact as you say the list of folks who started Idle right after it started. I'm in that category, but Xeno came about 1 year alter. Parsifal @ 1 was also a fairly early players, as was JK @ 0. ie: Idle start date does not correlate to # of SAsc's

@krinid I've burned out too. I open my game, look at it, and realize I'll have to sit down for 20 minutes to set up/finish the level and I'm just not motivated to do it.

@Master Jz, I hear ya ... it just becomes a cycle to recue the cycle. Play for another X hours so that you can do it again and make it take 0.95x hours, and repeat. The sad part actually is that it took me this long to quit. There really hasn't been anything new after the first few Ascensions. SAsc's is just a trick to make it appear that there is something new, but there really isn't. I guess the new levels were new but really nothing exciting.

hard to find the long-term motivation, as with almost all Idle type of games.. my reason to super-ascend was to check new levels and reach related achievements to keep my percentage :) ... no plans to SA again...

so while yall rush to finish the levels and SAsc and then lose the motivation to continue, I slowly take my time enjoying my first ascension and by the time I finish, hopefully Fizzer will add something new...

1st Ascension was indeed long . . . after 10th-ish Ascension, clear speed picks up, motivation goes down. The dejavu feelings kick in ... b/c yes you have done this before.

Good that I'm playing it "slow" by not using skip levels and therefore not doing Hex Earth.

I am with Brak on only supering once for the levels

Personally,
1: It's enough Grindy McGrindface as it is, all those ascends and then ascends again after you super, I can see getting sick of the game
1a: I am not looking forward to the first ascend, back to 0 AP, sure you have some artifacts but still. Back to the slog, I'll do it once for the new maps but that is it.
2: You will get to the point where you have all the AP stuff bought ans plenty of idle time much faster if you stick with it instead of resetting for the 25% bonus
3: Sure you can super over and over to get your dig time down, but 50% from AP is enough and they say AP>artifacts. Also at least if you don't super again you get to keep all your swag, and you are digging all the time at 50% once you maxed out AP Dig
3a: Insane artifacts take an insane amount of time, it just isn't worth it. Also if you got all the maps done, and all the AP bought and the important ones at legendary... what benefit does spending who knows how long to get them insane really get you. Sure sure, you can haz all the girls but other than that. The game is pretty much done by then anyways

I actually don't mind the early part of each super asc because it's not much effort per level. It's levels Europe Huge that are the problem because it's so much clicking and crafter micromanaging.
