I think Autos are dumb by default. What have been requested are AI. Yes, Autos like right now have limited usage, only useful on certain condition. But we can say the same thing to almost everything. Except for a very limited things (like JS) we can say that everything, to certain extent which vary, have different usefulness depend on the situation.

Of course I will be happy if we get smart AIs instead of dumb Autos. Most likely I will get benefit because they are smarter then me. Now, we are on pay-for-win territory.

Edit: to be clear, what I refer as AI is something like 'obeying JS while capturing territories', variable % to apply (aka sliding bar) is not. Actually, it should be implemented on a lot of other things too, like clan request. There should be a maximum limit but we should be able to choose lower value.
