Instead of focusing on suggestions/ updates which would make new players join CW, focus on suggestions/ updates which would make people already playing CW want to keep playing it.

Let me start:

1) change the 40 player limit to 40 wins limit/ day. This will lead to more games, clans with the cap will have a chance, active clans get an advantage and having really good players in the clan becomes less needed.

2) add a personal rating to players in clans, so games are more balanced.

3) CW are currently mostly played by "strategic community". Hence make two types of templates in a slot: one with templates from the current roster (minus FB and Guiroma) and one with templates from a roster chosen by TOP N clans based on rating. Every slot would have at least one template from both rosters, eventually more if in the past many people play a template from the given roster at the given slot.

4) if a player leaves a clan, he can represent another clan after 3 days CD.

instead of #3 my suggestions are:
* 3 templates (minimum) for every timeslot. 1 of the 3 templates to always be SE1W (fixed, every timeslot). It is the map vast majority of active players wants to play and has time for. Why deny it and force weirdo maps on us?
* Eliminate SEAD (too luck based) and SECB (games often too long) from CW
* Other 2 templates per timeslot to be determined according to your suggestion #3 - out of roster determined via voting system.

#4 - No. Players shall only be able to fight for 1 clan per season (as is, no change). CW is a clan event. Clan fights, clan gets rewards. Players should be able to stick with 1 clan for duration of a single CW season. No need to reward poaching and all sorts of similar scheming during an active CW season.

The thing with clan change is, that some players join not!CW clan and when they join a clan that does CW, they have to wait, even several weeks.

I don't understand why a game creator would launch a new event and yet not bother to respond to some feedback/improvement suggestions.

Is he really so stubborn to believe his thought process is always more important than the players that actually play this game?

I remember when TLA had that problem, its really annoying.

Especially since with just 1 or 2 (free) wins per timeslot, it also takes ages for the clan rating to reach anything that gets you games.

There are no new suggestions here from καλλιστηι.

Fizzer has responded to can size/how to count wins or games in the past, he doesn't repeat himself.

Templates are exactly what Fizzer wants. He wants people to learn to play QM templates, he wants people in QM.

SECB is a fast template. Usually <10 turns
SEAD is luck based to a degree, but so are a lot of SE1W games on 1st pick, when you play with a 1min clock.
Good SE1W games can last longer than bomber and are often killed by the auto commit
Why would Fizzer add more strategic community templates when Gurioma and FB have been ignored for 4 months of CW?
Why would Fizzer always have an SE when he wants the players to explore all the QM templates.


Disappointing response from you Plat. Maybe search the forums and read over the previous threads. You could also check the times, it's been 10pm-5am for Fizzer to respond to this thread. He is human, not ai

Maybe there's something wrong with some QM-templates if no one wants to play them and forcing does not work btw... Many people just don't play when they only see MME MALD and MME CLD
I agree SECB should get shorter boot time, I also think every slot should have either SEAD or SE1W for the casuals.

SEAD have some luck based games, so does SE1W, where 1st pick wins game.
It is also most populated, because its simple and one of first QM templates. I don't see any reason to alienate most on CW community.

There are already people in QM.

Why? Perhaps because people who play CW would want that? You can use the argument "if you don't like CW, don't play it", but the problem of this argument is, that people might listen to it.

I took a look at the latest clan wars threads which all at one time could've had a message from the lord and saviour Fizzer himself. He's had plenty of months to respond and not just 10am - 5am. He did not respond.

I personally feel if there's a audience that cares about your event and wants to make it better, you at least can owe them a response instead of ignorance. That's how things get better, you launch a event, you gain criticisms, you evaluate it and then improve it or at the minimum explain why. It is common sense.

The community could make a excel sheet of perfect changes and Fizzer would print it out and wipe his ass with it because he did not think of it first. I am happy he at least took a pro-active approach in setting up his GoFundMe campaign, it balances out everything.

καλλιστηι, Fizzer wants more people in QM. That's where all new users and dragged toward, those are the numbers he needs to pump.

Yeah, FB is as ignored as MME MA and MME commanders. That showed Fizzer that a move toward strategic templates didn't help him.

From the start of S5.
the first 19 FB timeslots had 123 users, 6 players per slot
MME Comm 296/56 = 5 players per slot
MA 221/44 for 5 players per slot
Guiroma 193/18, 11
SEAD 979/38 = 26
SE1W 1188/52 = 23
SEBC 581/49=12
2v2 178/38 = 9
1v1 568/45 = 12

You do suggest to remove the most played template.
We remove templates and you get it to being the SE1W monthly seasonal. Or we whack out some fun ones of biomes or greece and kill the new players. 9 templates, one is teamplay. 3 are strategic community, 3 are small earth, 2 are QM.
I'd well suggest that there should never be just one template per timeslot, but number of templates is done on average number of players for that timeslot. It decreased a lot over season 5.


Plat, he's not going to respond to Kratt on the forum. He doesn't have enough keyboards... a question about clan elo, he's made a wiki...john smith wanting more reward for less work and Santa wanting more reward for less work. If you're playing CW for the coins it's always far better spinning the wheel. CW is another link between idle and QM.

Where ever Fizzer did respond back in the depths of time, his plan of waiting it out to see what happens is still in going. Start of S5 he had ~230 players per day in CW. I'll tell you Friday how many he has in 6 if you like.

Actually, let me break your post more.

There are no new suggestions here from καλλιστηι.
The new suggestion is, that you try to make CW pleasant for players already in, rather than thinking that magically lots of people will join it. Even if that miracle happens, if you lose the current community, the total amount of participators won't increase.

In Ancient Greece, philosophers claimed that women are subhumans. They don't repeat themselves. So there is absolutely no point in challenging that idea or even making a discussion. 10/10 reasoning, would apply again.

We're discussing on a tiny forum not writing papers.

I'm not sure anyone has found the pleasant factor. If they did maybe Fizzer would change it. If you find it, do please create a new thread.

Fizzer's response to clan size was when only a season (or two?) had been played and he wants to see how it goes after many multiples of seasons. So the forum erupting at the end of each season, doesn't really change his answer. Perhaps if we're still having this discussion in 2023 you can actually get a point for your Greek philosophers.

QM does reward idle, after the arena. CW is complicated but brings together clans, idle, QM.

Source of SECB is rarely do i get the 2nd bomb and it's first bomb used well after a few turns. My clan changed to SECB because it can be played faster than MME comm and doesn't have the ridiculous 1min timer of the SE's that hurts any good game.

My source is the first 115 timeslots of season 5. Far more than your 4 snapshots.
Haven't you read the other CW threads? Guiroma and FB are only 3rd template options. They are about half as common as the other 7. But what is your point here? My point is he listened, added what "we the forum" wanted, and he got negligible increase.

3rd post down, as valid opinion as yours. Fizzer has to read the whole thread and work out the average. He can then take into account that 200 players play CW and less than a dozen are calling for change.
And my point is he added strat templates and they are not played
Gurioma makes the cut, FB not but FB had more votes than the others so why change it for a lower voted template?

For instance, due to CW there is a new clan getting together solely for the purpose of winning CW6! They needed a better strategist but this season is going will last into November so they've plenty of time to suceed

lol well try 40 players not less than adozen. also our whole point of creating this group is to create interest for clan war. fizzer made clans cheaper, he wants more people to create new clans and participate. if that is true, why is there a huge block for new clans. this will deter any new clans from forming like we did, and not only that, it will curb the personal interest of all the hardcore competitors in YOLO

The best solution is giving the max number of rating to players who didn't get a game. It's a punishment for most clans, since they get harder opponents afterwards, but it allows matchups at least.

Let's also not forget that somehow we've been able to win CW games (or get free wins) and still have a rating of 0.

The problem is as simple as this. The CW rating and matchmaking systems punish new clans. And oddly, the clan changes & CW player limit inspire creation of new clans to compete, which would indicate that this is not intended behaviour, otherwise it means that the intent is to motivate a given behaviour which is then punished.

I do recall this happening to a few clans (TLA, and some others?) in S1. Tbh, I'm surprised to see it is still an issue. There are several easy ways to fix it (mentioned in other threads, I won't recap any here). I can't believe that this is the intended functionality (matches for stronger clans prioritized at expense of weaker/new clans). In S1, it's forgivable, kinks are being worked out. In S6, there's no reason for this to still be happening. It isn't necessary to wait several seasons to see that this isn't a good system.

To be clear, in the case of Yolo, we're talking about events such as having multiple players join in 4 timeslots since S6 started and getting a total of 4 games (counting one 2v2 game as 2 games) assigned, 2 free wins, 19 unassigned games. And still a CW rating of 0.
