Clan league 6: 9/30/2014 22:17:26

I will be taking over clan league 6 since JSA is too busy. The committee will be:

ChrisCMU
JSA
Apollo
Miyagi
Fridge (alter ego)

Ineffable will upkeep the score sheet again, perhaps wakanarai/Lolowut can keep doing the updates for us?

We are currently voting on templates for the next league (all teams in A for next season, plus division B/C winners get 1 vote).

What I do know right now is that the format will be the same:

(6) 1v1 games
(3) 2v2 games
(2) 3v3 games

Rules will follow after a discussion with the other committee members, but all clans are required to send a warlight mail with me AND JSA on it that includes all possible players for your clan roster. If you end up not using some of them, that is fine...but we are going to check all players listed for possible alts (so declare those up front if you know them). Alts are allowed if declared, but we need to discuss (in the committee) whether only 1 account will be allowed or multiple in separate divisions but still a game limit per person.

The following clans have rosters in (please only submit probable players, not every player in your clan):

WG
Sninja
Incognito
XS
Turtle
Warlighters
Blitz

VIW already submitted a roster. We're also kinda peeved that we don't get a say in how the league is run. Why do you exclude teams that have been participating in clan league from the beginning???

Ah, pushovers right; he sent me one, I haven't checked over it yet. If you sent me one, please resend them to Chris. Sorry guys, no time or interest for the clan league anymore.

Might as well give pushover my spot on the clan league committee to be honest. I doubt I'll have time and 2 lynx on it is kinda u fair, so I'll step down and give my spot to the guy who has helped make tournaments in past seasons and to the clan that has been around in the clan league longer than most.

Tl;dr, pushover can have my spot on the committee.

Ps: I no longer have much interest in warlight; I'll be around for realtime games with friends, but I found a different site to conquer now, and warlight has become boring to me.

You guys misunderstand. There are no lineups needed, just a roster. That way we can make sure there are no alts. The templates are being voted on (BTW, there is no apex vote yet...I will skype you options Lolo because apex needs to vote).

After templates are set (I will post Friday), you will have until a week after this season ends to decide your lineups for the particular templates.

There are 18 player slots. Each player may participate in 4 slots at max. So that means you need 5 players minimum to field a team.

Also, an update on alts. You may only play 1 account for whatever clan it is in a given season/league. So no playing for multiple clans still, even if they are in different divisions.

Kasparov- yes. there may be two C's if enough sign up. if that occurs there would be a single promotion from each perhaps (we'd have to discuss that in the committee). Or if there are no more signups we'd just have a larger C probably

Too long to promote if you are a new good clan.

Yeah, the problem with a D is who do you put in there (since it requires an additional promotion to get to B)? I could easily put the two last place teams from C this season there. But it would not be fair to put some new clans in D when others start in C ahead of them.

Anyway, no way to really tell until I know for sure who is participating. I will check in with those leaders I have not heard from.

If you do D, precedent must be followed, Chris. New clans enter lowest division. That is the issue with creating Div. D, which is why I'd suggest having two Cs.

Yes like the promotion/relegation league. Have group C1 and C2. One clan would be promoted from both each season, though that does limit the chance of promotion for each group. However this is much better than having group D.

If we want 2 C's it's like we need a few extra clans on board.

Here's my selfish point of view:
Suppose there is 2 pools: C1 and C2. C1 has XS, Turtles, Swirve, Incognito, and Ohms while C2 has Sninja, [BR] FUDEW, XCD, and REGL? (Other relegated B clan I think was REGL).

Anyways in C1 XS takes first with 160 points. Turtles 2nd with 143 and the others follow behind. And let group C2 have REGL take first with 139 points and [BR] FUDEW take 2nd with 136 points. XS and REGL would get promoted even though Turtles out scored the best clan in the other division.

This is all hypothetical, I'm not a part of the council, I wont argue it, I just think it could shaft a clan or two. Maybe you could allow for a wild card clan?

Turtle in the case that you just described, this would be a matter of playing a weaker or less balanced C division than the other C division. Hypothetically if your clan placed second in C1 and did score that many points while the other division's winner scored less, this just shows that the competition was more fierce in the other division. The case could be that either A) division C1 ended up with the 2 best teams and some of the least competitive teams, while C2 was just more balanced. Or B) C2 ended up with all the good teams, less the 2 good teams in C1, creating tougher competition in C2. There are many possibilities, yet it is foreseeable that with two C divisions your clan could score the 2nd highest, yet still be the 5th best team relatively between the two divisions (or you could be the 2nd best team, difficult to say).

Instead I'd suggest/come up with a way to balance the teams in both divisions. Somehow rank the teams (have division B teams vote or something to that effect) and then take the 1st team and throw them in division C1, throw 2nd and 3rd in C2, 4th and 5th into C1, etc. etc. That system would still have its flaws and it wouldn't be 100% accurate (who is the best clan is a rather subjective question), but it would still try to balance out the C divisions.

I think that's a good idea mablung but I would assume that they would try to split the clans evenly anyways. I think Lynx and Blitz could help divide the clans in this group since we both just finished facing most of them. Just a thought.

The rate at which swirve and ohms got booted last season, I'd be surprised to see them back, unless they've managed to get more active players.

If you do end up needing to go for C1/C2 though because they or others sign up, I'd suggest going for a "finals" series where C1-1 plays C2-2 and C2-1 plays C1-2 to find out who goes through. (possibly the final for top C team as well)

@Jefferspin, you have a fair point about having Lynx and Blitz assess group C, but there could be some bias in there though.

@Cheery Dog, that would be rather time consuming, but sounds like it might not even be an issue anyway unless more teams join.
