Chokecherry - I'm not sure why, but warflowvet has declined the tiebreaker, so either make a chatgame with him and ask him why did he do it, or just start the tiebreaker between just me and grona..

As mentioned earlier, I need to put out a revised movement chart to reflect a few dropouts. So far it looks like we have this many moving forward to Season 9: 6 from A, 6 from B, 7 from C, 6 from D, 7 from E, 5 from F, 5 from G, and 8 from H1 and H2 (4 each).

Here is how I see that balancing out for Groups of 7 - it means some super-promotions:

Only 5 games left to complete in season 8, and all are in progress (1 each in C,D and H1, and 2 left in E). You can follow the progress from the links at the very top of this thread.

We've had one more retirement from the league, from an A player who would have gone to B. There is a resulting domino effect that means more promotions than earlier set out. Here is the new pattern:

I am curious about whether I have to start over at the beginning again. I was in Season 4 I believe and was in Group C or D I believe. So do I get placed back there or do I have to start at the bottom again?

Good question. I am curious myself. What if I get to a busy time in my life (like when I am on vacation for two months)? Could I skip a season and come back in the same place? Or do I start over?

Chris, staying in same position is a bit unfair i think, people would be put down etc. perhaps you starting 1 league lower for every league you missed? (assuming you count as a relegation each season then) and just larger groups instead of pushing people down? I think it is fairer.

Starting over at the bottom has always been the rule. You wouldn't be the first to start over. The tournament settings always respect vacations.

In Group H1, I'd like to know whether the following situation may be a tie or not. If I win all my games except the one against Nich, and Nich wins all his games except against Aranka, is the situation a tie or a win for Nich (as he beat me). That situation may arise here (Nich's game against Aranka is the last to be played).

The Head-to-head rule resolves this. So Nich wins your group one way or the other.

I would like to revoke my join request, because too dificult (very long time and a lot of games) to reach the top of this league from bottom :(

Chokecherry, what about if would be only two groups?
I mean:
League 1 for the elite, the best 10 players.
League 2 for the very good players (would be 10 players in this group as well).

And in every season would be a big qualifying double-elimination tourney for everybody else who want to join this league.

The winner of the "league 1" would be the champion of the season.
The last three players of the "league 1" would replace with the best 3 players of the "league 2".
The last 4 players of the "league 2" would be out from the league and replace with the best 4 players of the "qualifying double-elimination tourney"

In this way, there is the possibility for every new player become champion in 3 seasons.

Arun - happenned a few times already - if there is "enough time left" (<-- subjective decision for chokecherry to make) then you play a tiebreaker RR, if there is not, then you are randomly assigned three spots. The randomizing thing is done automatically by warlight like in every other RR in similar case.
