Any tips for beginners from good players? What to avoid and how you can be consistently good. Something you see new players do which is dumb?

Make as many picks as you can. Don’t start in a wasteland unless its to counter a bonus or the wasteland is lower than the non wastelands. Don’t “clusterpick” all your picks, meaning making all your picks as close as possible.
Delay your attacks most of the time.
