There are tourneys and challenges to earn memberships.

Those are proper tournaments where you can earn a lifetime membership, but they require time and skill, and if you have time and skill getting the 5899 coins required to buy lifetime yourself shouldn't be too hard. Or hope some crazy rich player does a random lotto tourney for a membership at some point.
