Hi,

I have some questions about map making, I made the first testing map with after watching the tutorial by ninjanic.
1. My map was 1000 px squared, but when testing it covered only a small corner part and the numbers were too big. how can I fix this? Ive read something about xml editor, but is it only possible to solve this with a paid application?!
2. I want to make historical maps from the svgs on Wikimedia and from other sites, how about copyrights? Am I free to use files from wikimedia?
3. Id like to have advice from other makers of (historical) maps, where did they get there (inspiration) maps from?
4. Is there anything I absolutely need to know before making larger maps with hundreds of territories? I dont want make somehting to be wasted :P

Thanks in advance!

S.S.

1. No paid application needed. Check your document properties in inkscape to make sure they are right. If they are, resize the map to fit.

2. "By uploading a map to Warzone, you are asserting that you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to the content within. See the Terms of Service for full details." You might have to check the file in question (for example, some might require credits)

3. There are some good websites out there with maps, I am sure someone will put up a few links.

4. File size is an issue for really large maps. So make the maps first, and add decorations later if you have space. Also, there are limits like 3200 territories and 1500 bonuses.

5. 3000px x 3000px

Just use the pen tool lmao. Pencil tool requires so much explanation and it is scarcely necessary to create a stylish map.
