What is an active player? Everyone's definition is different.

Also what do you mean by 'best'. Best at strategy? Best at all games? Best community player?

New Zealand - Summer + Aus - Xeno :: Summer is from New Zealand and Xeno is best Australian player

USA - Deadman -> FSG :: Maybe peak Deadman was better than peak FSG, but FSG is one of the absolute best in the game now and Deadman is mostly retired. I tend to value more recent ability because I think in general the playerbase has gotten better over time.

Germany - Timi -> AI :: This is maybe just recency bias but there's no denying AI has been an absolute force recently. MTL, CL, Seasonal, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3. You name it he's winning it.

Turkey - Rouxburg -> Tornado:: No idea who Rouxburg was, so this may be way off base, but Tornado is very good and I don't see many players from Turkey.

Israel - Doron Hoh -> Clivan :: Most of my changes can be attributed to valuing feats now over feats past. This is a case where I think any way you slice it Clivan is better than Doron Hoh.

Obviously I haven't been around that long so feel free to mock me for undervaluing past players.

BTW I actually disagree about listing US players by state. People can move states fairly easily (I used to be in Wisconsin not too long ago) while moving countries is far more difficult. I probably rate as the best Wisconsin player but certainly not the best California player.

You could make a very sound argument for Deadman being the best player ever. Fivestargeneral is a sad little boy who watches k dramas all day and only has 1 gold trophy. There is no comparison between the two. You could perhaps make an argument that FSG is the best active American, although I think it's fairly even between him Pardon and Octane. Octane probably edges it though because he's in FCC.
