Details for Season 2 and beyond of the USA League:

The USA league is a seasonal 1v1 promotion/relegation league.

The template will change each season. For the time being, Octane, Pardon, and I will work together to choose templates.

There will be up to 5 divisions (or tiers). If 40 or fewer players join the league, there will be one 8-player round-robin tournament in each division. If more than 40 players join the league, some of the lower divisions will have more than one 8-player tournament (like the Promotion/Relegation League does).

Each tournament will go at a pace of 2 games at a time.

If 40 or fewer players join the league, the top 3 from each division are guaranteed promotion, and the top 5 players are guaranteed safety from relegation. I will include a document with more promotion/relegation details here before June 10th.

For the first season, Octane, Pardon, and I will work together to determine in which division each player will start.

Each season, a single-elimination tournament will also be created with the same template as the round-robin tournaments. All players who participate in the league will be invited.

I can't give an exact start date for Season 1 of the USA league, but I would estimate that this season will start around June 14th.

Updated information for the first season:

The template for the first season of the USA League will be Strategic Greece.

The first season of the USA League will be different from future seasons.

Rather than having many round-robin tournaments, this season will consist of a 7-round swiss-style tournament through B's CLOT: http://wzclot.com/ . Please also login on B's CLOT.

This means that in the first season, you will only play one game at a time.

The final results of this tournament will be used to divide players into groups for Season 2 of the USA League.

Unfortunately, because we are using CLOT, only players Level 51 or above will be allowed to play during Season 1.

Good question. I am not planning for the USA League to use B's CLOT, but I may re-evaluate in the future.

I would like to join, though I'd suggest maybe doing a Swiss style tournament for the first season. Would be better than just arbitrarily building the divisions.

To join the league, you must be either an American citizen or currently residing in the United States. You could start a Turkish League though!

Florida, can I join?

While some Americans may not claim Florida, we will count it as part of the United States for the purposes of this league.
