Is there someone willing to accept payment for making maps instead of doing it yourself? Basically providing a template for them, giving instructions... that kind of stuff?
I'm making my own map, following NinjaNic's Brand New Tutorial! His maps are so wonderful i call him the showboater, lmao. Because of his slice and dice technique. He puts a new meaning to mapmaking but would appreciate a tutorial on how to make real maps as the category calls them over fantasy maps. How do you change the pencil draw line where it's not free hand in inkscape. I made bonuses but now must make territories. What am I doing wrong?
If you're making a real-world map, you'll have to download some maps of what you're drawing and import them into the document, file->import. You will probably need to download several maps to get all of the lines you want.
I would recommend against using the pencil tool. The pen tool allows you to control exactly where the nodes are, which 1) keep the lines clean and 2) keeps the file size down. I gave up trying to work with the pencil tool before I made my first map.
I figured it out. Thanks! You know in some maps where territory boxes are outside the territory itself if the territory is too small to fit it? How do you connect the territory box ( also is there a specific way to make them) to the territory itself?
real world maps have another dimension to them because you can't just build the map around gameplay, you have to reconcile gameplay with reality. It's beautiful if properly executed.
You can put the bonus link anywhere, inside the territory or outside of it. The wiki tells you how to make bonus links under mapmaking. Really, you should read every page on mapmaking before you start asking questions on the forums lol.
