If it's a recruit from another clan, it's poaching (at least by my definition). So I poached riskboy from 101st, trying to poach Viking from Hawks*ahem*what? How about joining TLA, Viking?

why cant i join?
is it because, since you are a strategic clan, "diplo is not strat"?

So there are two ways that changing clans comes about:

1. Player A in clan A asks player B if they can join clan B. Player B says yes.

This is not a poach.

2. Player B asks Player A in clan A if they want to join clan B. Player A says yes.

This is technically a poach.

Not all poaches are bad. Sometimes player A was spam invited into a clan (ie darklords) and has no interest in it. So a poach when you know a clan is inactive or a joke really isn't something someone should get their pants in a bunch for.

Is it just me, or is there absolutely no difference between Aura's two scenarios other than the words want/can and A and B being swapped?

There is a fundamental differnece, let me be more verbose:

Player A in clan A asks player B if they can join clan B. Player B says yes.

lets say player Bob is in clan justplaincasuals. One day Bob decides he wants to join groupofskilledplayers, since he is unsatisfied with justplaincasuals. So bob asks if he can join groupofskilledplayers. groupofskilledplayers says yes, you may join. so player Bob leaves justplaincasuals to join groupofskilledplayers.

This is not a poach.

Player B asks Player A in clan A if they want to join clan B. Player A says yes.

lets say player Bob is in clan justplaincasuals. Meanwhille, groupofskilledplayers notices bob plays rather well. So groupofskilledplayers invites player Bob to join groupofskilledplayers. Bob is hesitant at first. He has many friends in justplaincasuals. However, he realizes that groupofskilledplayers has much more to offer him in terms of game engagement. So he leaves justplaincasuals and joins groupofskilledplayers.

This is technically a poach.
