Belzebub, I was trying to get my point across to you before about skill in terms of risk management in warlight...

I'll keep it simple, for map to measure skill efficiently templates/maps can't :
- be too big
- be too small
- have too unbalanced bonuses
- have multi-attack
- have too high luck setting
- have too many cards
- have unbalanced cards
- have unbalanced way of dealing card pieces
- have unbalanced way of aquiring card pieces
- have not enough starters to cover the map effectively
- have too many starters
- have auto distribution
...

I think that's about it, that goes for both 1vs1 and team games. And the reason strat 1vs1 and europe games are overused, because they fit in nicely into those. Anyway I'm quite convinced if you make any template on any map satisfying those requirements real elite players will beat you. No one cares specifically for medium earth, it is just well-built, transparent, easy to learn and naturally became a standard due to ladder and auto-game. Eeveryone really cares it has decent settings and by decent I mean satisfying all of the above conditions (though does not satisfy them for 2vs2 ladder unfortunately).

I'm not criticizing anyone, I am only saying that we do not have the same experience, because we play different maps, I'm perfectly aware that the map where there is more competition is medium earth ..... and then is correct to play them, i have joined ladder to learn from these players not for teach at them....but accuse me ( only because i have an high stat in 1v1) of cheating or of playng vs noobs first than chanllenge me in the template who i usually play....its childish....aniway after mine 15 game i will have a rank for sure bettern than mr X....

Belzebub, I just stated that for maps to measure skill efficiently they must satisfy some basic conditions, otherwise the variation brought on by settings makes it borderline impossible to control risk... I guess you just won't understand that...

No, my personal opinion is that Europe is the best available map for 3vs3 games. What I said is a pretty much an objective statement, in order to measure skill, you have to reduce variation, every single thing I mentioned reduces variation. In the same way I can safely say Duel map is 100% luck based, I can say that maps that do not satisfy the conditions i mentioned are partially/to a big extent luck-based.

Skill means limiting luck and allowing for an even playing field. A map must be balanced in order to allow for that and the settings must also be even.

@Swez, I think that's true, and therefore if such a competition were to be implemented, it should be on a completely new map, just like you suggested earlier.

On a different note, specifically aimed at Richard and Jsa, without sounding like a douche at all, but many of the players are indeed much better than most warlight players and are able to beat top players in team games at times. This does not mean we are the absolute best, but we are improving on a daily basis on a a competitive level, keep in mind this is a relatively new clan. It existed for a bit but only recently many members joined and we started to accept team challenges and playing competitively etc.

Nevertheless, since we are tired of all this fuss, we are considering changing the name to something a bit less "screamy". This is up to us though; And this is not the "end" of the clan... we will still be just as active within the group as before I predict.

I haven't played enough 'elite' members to be able to speak to their competency. While I don't believe some of the stats are valid (like 98% in 1v1) that doesn't mean I don't believe there is any ability there. Merely that it isn't as good as that number would otherwise suggest (no one is that good).

As I said above, using such a term is simply asking for trouble from people, especially when such dubious methods as Optim's are employed. I assume you took my 5-0 line as the joke it was intended to be.

I'd have to say this whole thread is quite silly. WM is the "Warlight Masters" (not picking on you guys just using you as an example) But I've never seen any hate on them for not being "Masters". We can sit here all day and say who's better and blah blah blah. Who are to say that Optim#Elite! can't play on real-life Europe with the setting's he wants? Frankly I think the entire #Elite clan should ignore the wild claims being made in this thread on move on with their lives. If you guys don't like Optim#Elite! then blacklist him.

Bel, what happened to all that bragging about your ladder standings? You were up in the 2000's and certain you would dominate x and others. Three consecutive losses later you leave the ladder before completing your 15 matches.

Wow.. Its a bit ironic, people arguing over the internet. In any real-life social setting its ok to give subtle hints at someone if they break a minor norm. Very different from arguing in a social forum on the internet; here you get harrazed and bullied around over the smallest thing.

I get that some of the younger guys on the forum acts childish, but in this thread there are many players who i reckon is adults acting very childish.. This go for both sides.
