probably tmi, but hey, what can i say. i'm being safe and trying to avoid getting sickness, while some total dumbasses darwin themselves by being out protesting.

Swine Flu, I read an article saying there MAY have been outbreaks of it in China before it was reported in other countries!

If that article was false, who knows where it began?

Note one thing, all over Asia countries that are direct neighbors of China, and Chinese provinces neighboring Wuhan, have had much more effective responses to the outbreak than the west. Instead of being obsessed with blame, try to look inwards.
Is your healthcare system and pandemic response ready to handle a world with global travel and high-density farms? Sure I would like sanitary conditions at meat markets in Wuhan. But bird flu cases have happened periodically in western countries and a pandemic can start anywhere.

One thing that has impressed me during this pandemic is Cuba's medical brigades they've sent to Italy and many other countries, despite being embargoed. Denmark couldn't offer anything better than a dozen outdated ventilators that cannot treat COVID. Years ago Denmark's government denied requests from the health authorities on pandemic preparations costing a few hundred million DKK, while spending billions of DKK on terrorism preparations. That resulted in mask shortages in March and testing capacity was inadequate. Still an early lockdown kept losses relatively small so far (another thing USA could have done, but chose not to), but not as small as many countries in Asia that managed to contain the virus.

Raging over China isn't gonna help prevent a pandemic. Preparing for one will.

Has anyone been flying during this lockdown (or post-lockdown) period? Feels like you come out with either COVID-19 or Munchausen syndrome.
