Yep. Partly why I stopped to take a breather, as fun a debating was. Really, this kind of discovery (finding out whether the Bible & Christian faith is true) really can only be done by the individual, and debating rarely, if ever, actually helps. The interesting thing about debating is that no matter how one-sided it is, the losing side will almost never be persuaded to the other point of view - the only people whose opinions could be influenced by a debate are the people watching and not taking part. I find it interesting.

However, I must address one more small thing that gany said and Pepe partly addressed. The homophobia issue.
Now, homophobia is hating on gay people, right? Now, the scripture gang quoted does not say we should hate gay people; on the contrary, Jesus' teachings all say we should love everybody, even our enemies (of course, this excludes THE Enemy.)

The problem I wanted to state was that I don't care if bible hates or loves homosexuals. The problem is that it considers homosexuality a sin.
Why is it even a sin when god himself created homosexuals?

God didn't create homosexuals; He created people. Homosexuality was never in God's plan for humanity; we created it when we sinned against Him. Now, my opinion is that homosexual orientations themselves are not sins, because it is true that some people naturally have these tendencies against their will. I think it is whether you act on them (mentally, like lust, or physically, like actually espousing someone of the same sex) that crosses the "sin" line. I think it's like ordinary temptation; everybody is at some point tempted to do something sinful - even Jesus was tempted - but it is whether we give in to the temptation or not that makes it a sin (or not).

half of the books in the new testament were written by an ex murderer of christians, king david had a man killed in order to marry his wife and God still said that David was "a man after mine own heart." however, there is not a single homosexual mentioned in the bible in a positive light. they are mentioned to be called vile and perverted, and to be an example of vengeance and eternal fire. there are verses which say that homosexuals can be saved, but they never get shown in a positive light in the bible.

Gany, those statements are not contradictory; just because people have natural tendencies towards evil doesn't mean God created that evil, or those tendencies. Evil came about because Satan disobeyed God, and it entered our world because humans disobeyed God.

And who said God didn't think of it? Not me. God is all-knowing; He knew what a mess we would make of His perfect world, He knew that it would cost Him the death of His Son to redeem us, even before the world was created. The fact that He still created it (and us) says a lot about His love, I think.

There is a reason why you cannot win against each other. You just can't. No conclusion will be met, so long as there exists the dichotomy of empiricism and rationalism. Both are valid forms of reasoning, though I can see how one can get caught up in the argument for supremacy over the other.

Commentary:
Quite aptly describes the love I just referred to in my post above; Though Jesus was God, He loved us so much that He came to earth like one of us - feeling our feelings, hurting our hurts - just to save us, who had rejected God from the beginning of time. I think that's incredible.

@Tungesten I've stopped the main argument because I agree with you, but gany here is trying to find fault with theological truths about which he doesn't know very much, and I think this topic is so important in today's society that I really must point out the flaws in his twisting of our words.

A bunch of people asked for evidence of God, so here it is. Both Christians and atheists should watch it... whether you believe it or not is another story. You might find him crazy, but the fact that he won a divorce trial without a lawyer in 777 days, just as God promised him, speaks for itself... as well as the rest of the things in the video.
It's definitely worth the hour and 40 mins to watch (or just watch it on 2x speed like me).

Talking of homosexuality is evil, you think it's evil just cus some random guy (who allegedly existed in 10000 H.E., allegedly claimed himself to be god's son and allegedly got killed even though he allegedly was god's son) allegedly said that.
TBH, Hinduism and Buddhism sound more upstanding and decent than abrahamic religions. They promote harmony, gender equality, accept homosexuality and you aren't even forced to accept them (ref: inquisition, crusades and jihad).
