Why everyone hate Diplomacy Games? They're cool, you can make allies or betray them and make strategies... Why some players are blacklisting who joins these games?

Because playing diplomacy requires a different set of skills than trying to win non-diplomatic games. Generally speaking players who like diplomacy also lack a certain set of skills to play non-diplomatic games successfully. Because of this discrepancy some players avoid other players for this reason.

I think us diplomacy players should blacklist non-diplomacy players in response. I declare war on non-diplomacy players!

If you take the time to develop both diplo and non-diplo skills you can enjoy both styles of game play.

I think much of the backlash is due to the fact that prior to the leveling system, many non-member diplo players would spam the open games asking for others to create the 20-player games for them. Got VERY annoying and caused a lot of tension.

A word of philosophy. "Don't hate thy game. Hate thy players."

In my opinion...

RT Diplomacy: Way too fast to be proper diplomacy, often decided by boot and/or uneven positions. I've seen many games where superpowers team up and destroy the rest. People tend to ignore the rules in this kind of diplomacy. Plus Sharpe's point about people spamming for diplomacy games like this.

MD Diplomacy: Some people have the skills for this, others don't. It's not bad at all - I like a multi-day diplomacy or two - but it still depends on the settings. A good diplomacy is balanced so that no one person can easily win. Anyone can make a good diplomacy (despite the common misconception that Roleplayers Realm have the only good diplomacy makers), but many don't try to balance and make some sides overpowered.

Diplo takes no skill

The Standard World 2012 diplomacy isn't necessarily bad, it's just that there's overpowered AND underpowered at the same time. Overpowered and underpowered are good alone, but together it's just a mess. Besides that, regular 2012 diplomacy is rather bland and obvious. While the genre had great potential, it's simply copy + paste, which is why I like seeing the occasional different and more balanced take on diplomacy in the open games tab rather the traditional diplo. Still, it's nothing compared to a nice rp Westeros map. Just my thoughts on the matter.

@Moros, I'm aware of that but I'm not going to act like diplo actually takes more skill than say 1v1 auto.

Diplomacy games have rules, role playing and objectives, all of which require certain sets of skills such as discipline, creativity, goal orientation and ability to negotiate.

Now go read a book or watch an online seminar and come back when you have something intelligent to share.

All you have to do is convince someone to help you gang bang a smaller player. Repeat. Repeat. Sure, you need to know how to use diplomacy to get ahead, but even shitty players dominate diplo games just because they got a super power slot. 1v1 takes more skill and to say otherwise is just wrong.

If you want to use real deplomacy make a team game with 3 + teams and then have open chat then you will see if you can have a truce with another team to deafeat others thats real diplomacy and non of that public enemy shit just to state it i have nothing against roleplaying an if players decide to have a nice chat roleplayingstyle along the game thats just some extra fun if you like it but the concept of "diplo" games is just shit and that is supported by that non of the actual good players of warlight who have a high 1v1 skill rate or who have lots of achivements play diplo games there is no skill in diplo THERE IS NO SKILL IN DIPLO EAT DICK
