If we could see how many times we've posted on the message boards and how many posts we had in total from the past.

Wouldn't that encourage people to start spamming useless rubbish to boost their post count and inflate their egos?

Idk, I think that'd give warlight a stronger reason to come to. I've been a member from ages ago, I used to post on the forum back then too. I cant find my old posts cause idk where to see them anymore (but they should be in this massive jungle somewhere) and idk what the titles were XD.
Sooo using help doesnt really help. and Indeed most forums have that, they also have this feature called 'signatures' where every user can have their customized message. It makes the forum load slower (speaking from personal experience of having founded/ran forums as admin in the past) but is a good way ti get people into posting.

I believe the posting of images was restricted to members-only because people were abusing the system. Signatures would be a loophole to that, would they not?

And regarding your old posts, there is a search facility at the top of each page on the forums. Typing your user name there will take you to all topics you've started, and posted in.
