Okay I have two things to say

1: That's Wensink. He's a well known troll and taking him seriously is in itself silly. He's even posted on these boards before. https://www.warzone.com/Forum/174564-wensink-greatest-player-time Sometimes he joins my games, picks terribly, and makes jokes about being elite because he's on a higher level than other players. No one should EVER take Wensink seriously.

2: A bit unrelated while at the same time on topic but can someone even explain to me how any player with a functioning brain could win 30% of autogames with nearly 4000 games played? I don't really understand the mentality of these players and have seen many of them in autogames. How can someone have so much experience but still lose to new players with little to no experience?

no one is like "oh i know what to do. and im going to exactly not do that".

i do.

triple picking is a great example. i know it's often a bad play but i do it anyway because it's fun.

in other words: if i'm wrong, please explain why. i'm aware it's possible i'm wrong. and discussions like these have caused me to play my best game more often. though still not always.

i just started the ladder. in my first 6 games i have thought about 2 minutes total making my picks. because i know i'm going to win all 6 games even if i play them drunk. who cares?

and ofc i lost one lol

Losing that game was fucking embarrassing. It'd be one thing if you underestimated the opponent and they played well, but they didn't.

I've only looked at turn 1 and 2, but they made errors both turns. Huge errors, the kind that smack of huge fundamental flaws in their understanding of the basics.

5 out of 6 picks in the northeast is just ridiculously stupid. Wastelands in Indo, ER, and WC pretty much guaranteeing that you can't win with that region alone.

If you picked like that vs adiba, you're going to lose 2 games.

I agree. I haven’t played for awhile, perhaps I’m rusty.

I assumed I’d win all the first ladder games so haven’t tried particularly hard but that doesn’t matter. I should have stomped him anyway.

I think you guys are putting way too much emphasis on picks. Good play can overcome imperfect picks.

But my play there obviously wasn’t stellar given I lost to an opponent I expected to crush.

You rarely win games due to your picks, but it's fairly common to lose games as a result of picks. Play matters, obviously, but I don't think I could get much higher than 1900 or so on the ladder with mediocre picks no matter how well I played.

I mean, you picked bad and played bad, but at least you didn't disappear at the beginning of clan league after signing up for it twice.

Obiously you cheated... Next time be sure to pick wastelands.

last time you did a run, you didn't break 1900 even with decent picks, so with mediocre, that's clearly a big no.
