For transparency and to provide feedback and guidance to those who created or submitted templates for this season, we are providing the general reasons why each of the excluded templates was not chosen.

• Buccaneers 0% WR: The map is rather large for a 1v1, especially in WR where expansion is slower. This can lead to games being too long.
• Discovery 2: Since the previous season featured a vanilla 0% SR template (and in fact 2 of the past 3 did), we decided to avoid such templates for this season.
• Gotham City: The primary objection to this template boils down to the cards. There are too many and it leads to messy situations. The emergency blockade card in particular drew significant criticism. Some other voices suggested that we had an INSS template too recently (Season XXXII).
• Greater Middle East III: See Discovery 2
• Lombardy Swap: Mods are not currently supported for the seasonal ladder
• Phobia 0% SR: See Discovery 2
• Tic-tac-toe reverse income: This template in particular with random move order and WR is not remotely strategic.

WR guaranteed season, nice.

A good number of people have submitted votes incorrectly. Please make sure you link your ladder games page not your ladder team page. Your vote will not count unless you submit your vote correctly.

I don’t see how map size is an issue considering the extra armies per territories, negative sanctions and the ships. All test games that I played (20) lasted between 2-12 turns, 7-12 being the average.
All the other games linked here took practically the same number of turns to complete as this.
The template also uses light fog, so it’s generally clear when the game is decided. Generally as opponents playing cards is not visible.
If ladder position manipulation strategies (such as stalling) are official rules, it would be very clear to see who’s stalling while the game is still underway.

That just makes it worse. High income templates come down to predictions on where and where not to stack. Imo the template needs two things

No extra armies per territory
4-6 picks to better cover the map (5 is what I was thinking.

Plus it has bomb-cards.

Ok, since Raj has been not selected for every season since we started voting, can it stop being selected for voting.

Surprised how Gotham fell into cards and not map size too large when template panel decided... both Gotham and Buccaneers have about the same map size....

I mean buccaneers has 3 picks on a pretty huge map, gotham has 7 picks + INSS system which makes the size less of an issue, in addition buccaneers is WR which can make expansion even slower.

British Raj is obviously best. :)
