i have no idea how land of bork works, can someone explain why i always have zero armies to deploy

Setting is called army cap --> armies are capped at two times your income, it's pretty simple

but I always start with 0 armies per turn no matter where I choose to start, my opponent always starts with 5 armies per turn and I can never understand why

I guess you refer to the QM template called "Blitzkrieg Bork" since the map land of bork itself is nothing special.

Important to note about that template: Multiattack, 2x Army Cap and 5 Base income, but you start with 2 +5 reinforcement cards that you can play in Turn 1

So dont forget to play the reinforcement cards.

your opponent also starts with 0 income. it just shows him to be at 5 income, I agree, that can be confusing.

AI is right the income shown for your opponent does not take his army cap into account since this would need information's that are still hidden with light fog.

See some games of this season(preferably top 10). First turn both have 0 income (due to army cap) and have to use reinforcement cards.

You're new, so don't bother with this template it's an obscure one.

In my opinion it's best to veto it and play the normal templates
