"As someone who looks to recruit players, considering I recruit decent players who are active which isn't the most strictest requirement. I struggle to find these players to recruit to a clan of 27 members.
If the community was stronger than ever, there should be a explosion in terms of players joining clans.
I just don't feel it that's all, not saying the community is dying but it feels down from what it was 2 years ago."
Yeah that's another good point. One thing I've noticed is that if you look at all of the better clans, almost every member is a player who's been around for at least a couple of years. Where are all of the newer talents jumping in adding life to clans? It's an unfortunate situation and every clan league we're just going to continue watching the same people fighting, and clans will more easily 'die out' as a result.
But I know this sounds kinda whiny to some people. I know some people see these opinions and think "Just deal with it." or "Nothing can be done, so stop whining". Obviously the community isn't perfect, but some of just wish to see more new members showing up to enrich the strat community, open games, etc. If it can't happen then it can't happen, and it's alright. It's not unreasonable to want some change, it seems like a more polarizing position than it should be.
Everybody moved to discord. Even Norman is trying to move over to Discord and he would rather use Skype than Discord.
I am sure that if you looked at forum activity every year without the statistics from the off-topic forum and spam posts you would see a decline but only because Discord is eating it. And that is a better business model for Fizzer anyways because then Discord has to pay for that server space and not him. (Or not. Idk how internets work.)
@OP I am sorry that your niche community died. I do not have found memories of real time diplos because of all the boots, really bad strategic play, and people taking your claim but I hope you can enjoy multi-day diplos or join a diplo clan
@Fizzer What about adding some link to the forums/community on the app somewhere? And from there, I imagine it shouldn't be too difficult to point people towards Discord/community events. Fostering community is pretty vital for the long-term growth of any multiplayer game.

This post was not to start a flame war guys, it should be a general discussion about the Decline in the game. YES I do know I have a high boot rate but that was from YEARS ago and I cant help that, booting was a normal thing either because rude people wanted to kick you for free land or you accepted you lost a war and left the game. Back in 13-15 when real time Diplomacy and fun games were huge and there was dozens upon dozens of games on there daily, you could always find something to have fun with. The roleplay, the pure enjoyment you got out of the game. I just don't see it anymore. I have played multiday games and it just doesn't match to how it was.
That is all I was getting at. The game has declined in the community I used to know. I do want to get involved in the new but yes, times have changed. Numbers I am sure are fine but if you played back in those years you would have noticed a significant change in how people played the game. Multiday is fine and dandy but I never was a multiday player souly for the reason that there was more passion about games in the real time area. People would come up with so many fun ideas and I miss it.
I did jump the gun on saying Fizzer didn't advertise the game and that's my bad. I'm sure he and other devs do care about this game as he even commented on this thread. He cares about feedback and his players and I am a player and I am giving my feedback, that is all.
Diplo mods should be exploding but no one is using them. I know you have to be a member to create games with mods, but If you really wanted diplos games with mods, you would've asked a member to create them

People can only kick you for free land if you don't take your turn in time (which is usually about 3 times longer than it needs to be in my experience with diplo games). Also, if you "accept that you lost," why not surrender instead of getting booted? There's really no truth to your statement that you can't help your boot rate in any case, but especially if that's the way you play.
