I've been been off the map making game since the Big Warzone Update last year and it seems that the map editor portion of the site has some bugs now. copy-paste doesn't work reliably and backspacing while naming territories now makes the browser go back a page. (I'm running the latest firefox nightly.)

Was there ever talk of updating the editor for unity?

That doesn't happen for me in the official Firefox release. So I guess it's a bug in Nightly? Nightly is by definition more buggy, so I'd recommend getting the official release to avoid bugs.

I’ll try to reproduce this.
Edit:
worked fine for me.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.

Probably just a browser setting or two you need to change. See if anything comes up for backspace when you search within Firefox's settings.

This article is probably outdated but it has directions: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/disable-backspace-chrome-ie-firefox

What exact version of Netscape are you using?

It ended up just working. No update or anything. Never even closed the tab. Weird.

I also noticed that not a lot of new maps have been made this year. There are still maps from last year on the ‘most recents’ page. We need to fix that.

Probably not. Bound to get a UJS version sometime in the future.

I think the major issue is that most people are the same 100 or so active players who only play in RoR or Small Earth. Then you have new people who find this game via mobile or web get absolutely crushed by them and only play on the same 3 maps. They probably don’t know these other maps exist. Then they never return because it’s boring to lose or see the same map over and over again. I know people don’t want to hear it but it seems that way. Open games are dead. And it’s the same people I feel. If anything I believe maps besides RoR or any of the popular ones shouldn’t be advertised to new players. Show them the goofy maps. I think it’s hard for an average joe to be interested in this game if they only get beat in the same 3 maps over and over. I wouldn’t play this game if other maps weren’t available. And less maps being made is only going to bore people long term. Bring some parity. It’s more fun that way. People who like risk strategy is a niche audience. That’s my opinion.

"Show them the goofy maps"

Did you make a mistake? This is confusing. I think you mean don't show players those popular maps that the pros are good at, right?

Anyway making maps for risk is great and we're never gonna run out of things to map working with a versatile platform such as risk. I'm going to keep making maps, when I have the free time to do so.

The next sentence I stated that.
Show them the goofy maps. I think it’s hard for an average joe to be interested in this game if they only get beat in the same 3 maps over and over.

Show them other maps that aren't necessarily made to be strategic. And yes the "pros" (I would rather say people who are good at the game, as the term professional involves getting paid) only play on the same maps. Which so happen to be the only maps in quickmatch for a random person new to the game to play. Perhaps breaking up the skill pool is necessary. or giving new players options such as "I want to play for strategy" or "I want to play just to have fun" or "Show me all aspects of Warzone." Even give the choice to play with people with similar levels or what not. I guess this would promote smurfing, but in the end it might be better to build a wider audience.

Even if we have people like you and Bane making maps I don't think they will get the love they deserve. Probably new people don't know they exist or that they can make them too. I believe that their is a bigger audience out there who can appreciate it though but Warzone isin't oriented in doing such. It's 90% just people who love risk like strategy games on a world template. Which is fine, but it's a niche audience. There is (no offense Fizzer) better strategy games out there. This game is free so you keep some people around (mostly younger people who can't afford to buy $60 games). I would bet most people on here are 16-21 years of age (the forum for sure). That's a small audience.

I wouldn't be playing this game if I didn't have friends IRL and via Twitch to play with. I overall fine strategy games boring and I feel most "gamers" do. I like playing on the goofy, sometimes bad, artistic, and non strategy maps because it's not stale. RoR and Small Earth are generally boring. I don't care about strategy. It's not fun for me. That's me though. I'm not sure what Fizzer's end goal is with this platform. But I believe he could reach a wider audience with this game. But it's his game not mine. He doesn't need to cater to me.

I know this is a bit side tracked from the original discussion and I love Fizzer (you da best) but its how I feel. :)
