my frustration is at its highest. my game playing is incredibly slow. up to 6 months ago my play was fine. sometimes it would be slow. if I am deploying 3, 3, 3, 3, for instance, maybe when I'm on the 4th one, the computer is on it's second one. Then when I attack, I can be 3 moves ahead of the computer. This just gets worse every month. 1 month ago It would take me 15 minutes to take one turn that has perhaps 15 deployments and 15 attacks. Now it 's twice as long. I can make 4 deployments and 4 attacks, and sit back and watch the computer try to catch up. taking 10 minutes. No exaggerations. I have cleared my cache. turned off my laptop. nothing helps. I am playing a larger single-player community game of the world, and I've been playing for 4 hours and only on turn 20.

What is wrong with my computer? As I say, i used to not have this problem 1 year ago. Same laptop.

Are you using Unity or Flash to play?
Try upgrading your RAM to at least 8GB, ideally 16GB. It might be worth upgrading your GPU as well. I have 8GB RAM and 2.20 GHz. You could run a full anti-virus scan; if there are any viruses, remove them. You could also clean your disk (https://danchurchblog.wordpress.com/2017/04/26/deleting-temporary-files/) and defragment your drives (https://danchurchblog.wordpress.com/2017/04/26/defragmentation/).
Sometimes, restarting your browser once in a while helps - clears your browser's RAM; browsers can be memory hogs.

Hmm, so since this gets worse every month, that would suggest that your computer is the issue (and not the game/unity). If this is the case, is other pc functions getting slower too? Or is only warzone slow. Also, try flash if you are currently using unity.

what levels are you playing? 10min isn't normal (although I've heard rumors it's possible to last that long, usually on seedy ads telling me to buy pills) but some levels really do challenge the AI on both Flash and Unity.

If your computer is getting slower each month, then your computer is quite likely to have malware. Definitely recommending an antivirus scan.
It's either malware your programs that your running are becoming more and more feature-enhanced, requiring more system resource to be used when running those programs, slowing down your device.

Try looking at how your system resources are being used. To do this:
Press ctrl+shift+esc; this open Task Manager
Click on "More details"

If your CPU usage is greater than 75% or your disk usage is quite high, then you probably have malware installed. To see what's draining your system resources, sort apps by CPU or Disk usage highest to lowest. If your PC feels quite hot as well, that's further evidence of malware (or your PC needing a clean from too much dust preventing warm air from leaving).

thank you knyte,

ok, here are my answers, so now i can get the real answers:

I am using unity, and flash, both are extremely slow.

I have mcafee and a malware scanner at all times. never finds anything.

i do run task manager and watch what is happening, and what is taking the resources is the browser that I am playing warzone in.

to add, even when i am chatting, it shows one letter every 10 seconds. I can type 70 wpm so when I type a line of text like "you were double my income at turn 7". that will take 4 minutes.

the maps I am playing constantly are Big USA, and Issander's huge earth.

i since bought a new computer, and it is still occurring.

Instead of suggestions that nobody has cured this issue with, I would appreciate an answer that someone has done that has cured this problem.

Many AI's plus big maps like Big USA can crash any system. It is likely that you are running into some memory issues.

Here : https://www.warzone.com/ChangeUnityWebGL you can change to unity then set how much memory you allocate to the game. You are basically running into the limit, resulting in slow behavior. This will happen regardless of how good your pc is, as memory is capped.

Solution, play smaller maps in single player. Playing big maps on MP should work ok too.

@gamemnon

Does your new computer have the same specs as the one you used before? If you still have 4GB RAM, then that's fine for work, but 8GB is what you need as a minimum for games. Is it HDD or SSD?
I wouldn't recommend running any more than 2 anti-virus programs at the same time - they will drastically slow down you PC.

There is a new mode for viewing games. If you add &Mode=UJS at the end of a multiplayer game URL. For me, this mode is faster than Unity WebGL. Note that UJS is experimental and was quite buggy when I last tried it (about 3 days ago).

Here's how to install RAM if you wanted to know how to upgrade it: https://danchurchblog.wordpress.com/2017/04/05/install-an-extra-ram-module/.

thanks dan. i've tried everything suggested here on my new computer. It has 4gig of ram. I may look into upgrading to 8. currently I am running firefox 64 bit and that seems to help a little. I am running Unity. I don't know what hdd or ssd is. I am only running one virus software, mccaffee which I hate, and I am running a malware software. both never find anything. I have never had any virus or malware search engine find anything for many years. I have run many kinds on my old laptop with never finding anything. i don't trust any of them now to work. I am running at 2056 as previously suggested.

Considering that you’re running Unity, you’d benefit much more if you switched to Flash. To switch to Flash, click your name -> Switch to Flash.
