Calling it a win off picks isn't arrogant. A win off picks IMO is any position that has an advantage after picks, that should win assuming neither player makes a blunder.

You can win off picks and then lose off play.

Sure. It's also pretty obvious that I should take AA and Scand first and then hit EC/Indo border turn 3. I can't take EC turn 3, so there's no temptation to be greedy in that position other than hitting the territory in EC needed to finish it turn 4.

His position might be a tad stronger on turn 3, but only because if I get first pick he has first order turn 3, and I'd consider first order on turn 3 to be fairly important

I saw this dude with a huge template and huge map with vety intricate rules. Forget his name doe. He got kicked from his own game and it went to shit. How can I become a great scenario maker? That's called an advantage at picks. Winning off picks is if you have an advantage so huge you'd be incredibly stupid to have to lose it.

After turn 3 you'd be down 13-11 with poor at best expansion. Hell Quick could take a risk and do a 2 turn 12, under the assumption you wouldn't counter him. I would hardly see your position in that game as a huge advantage off of picks, not even slim.

The only disadvantage quick would have is lack of intel of you possibly possessing West China.

What a ridiculous excuse. Part of the skill to picking in Strat 1v1 is to account for the possible scenarios of which combination of your first 6 picks you get.

Also I disagree Nauz would have won even if he got fist pick, especially since Nauz has no intel about Indo pick, which also counters Australia. Probably advantageous, yes, but Nauz can easily be outplayed.

Cowboy you need to give DD credit. He knows when people will be in Masters before they do. He finds a way to to face them all right when they start playing WL.

This is all pointless though, we know that Not Jeff is the best player. After all he taught Deadman how to play.
