If you're going to call Spain white then you also need to call Mexico, Brazil, Argentina etc all white, too. Because it's the same fucking people. Spain is to South America as Europe is to the USA. The natives integrated better than the indians but those countries were still founded by and still largely run and controlled by, 'white' Spainiards.
In the case of Brazil there is an issue of who the hell are white at all in any reasonable sense. You can't simply call a group of 1/8 black people white and then call a group of 1/2 white people black. Furthermore whiteness has to be an objective property that does not change its meaning inside Brazil.
