You get free coins which you then can use to buy stuff which doesnt make ou stronger, I know.

The basic mechanics seem to be quite similiar to me.

"perform action a, get a reward, game company profits"

Just to clarify, this isnt a thread to accuse Fiz+Mercer of anything but to discuss the concepts named in the linked posts, "skinner box", "whales" etc.

Personally I'm inclined to agree that coin spinners and loot boxes are to blame for my alcoholism.

Of course they're that different. they'd only be remotely the same if Fizzer started charging for extra spins.
